Really silly eating at home question-

I like this recipe for pancakes. The ingredients are pretty much staples, so I usually have them all on hand:

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

I had gotten some Krusteaz pancake mix on sale, w/ a coupon for $1 a box. It is a smaller size than the Bisquick box. but on the side it says that it will make 10 -7 inch waffles in the whole box. So at just that price $1 for 10 waffles it is a little bit better of a price than I get frozen for. Usually I can get frozen for $1-2 a box. I believe the box has 8 in it. And they are definitely smaller than the ones I make. I don't add oil and egg either. Just water. So no other expense there. My kids prefer my "homemade" ones. Prefer them so much that the extras never last more than one day after the fact. So I buy frozen too when they are a good deal. I made them from scratch before but I could really taste the baking powder, very strong, I didn't care for it. But I will definitely try again.
