Really, really late check-in--can we count on a room

We're planning our November trip to WDW and we have again ended up with an overnight flight to Orlando. Since Alaska is a fair distance from the MK, we have about a 12 hour flight (with one, one hour stop). Needless to say, when we arrive at our resort around 8 a.m. (4 a.m. in the time zone we left) we're tired.

We've done this routine twice in the past year and one time were lucky and our room was ready for us. The other time was a wait until mid-afternoon where my wife and I wandered around in a zombie like state calling the resort every half hour to see if our room was prepped yet.

My ideal situation for this trip would be to book a room for a day earlier (11/3) than we arrive with the idea that it would be waiting for us when we arrive around 8 a.m. on the following day (11/4).

- Has anyone out there done this or know that it can be done?

- If this isn't a possibility, do you have any other suggestions on how we might be able to get some sleep/refreshed when we arrive?

Thanks so much!

Book a room for the night before, call the resort the day before you ealve and explain the situation. You'll haev to pay for the night, but it's the only way of guaranteeing the room.

You can request early check in...usually works out, especially if it isnt a busy season.

We come from the West Coast and have had about 50/50 success when checking in early-always during value season. Last year we did what you are asking, called the evening that we left (around 7pm Pacific time) to explain what we were doing to the front desk, hoping they would not cancel us as no-shows. They cancelled our room anyways, but it was available when we checked in early the next morning.

I know that sometimes cruise people get a day room at one of the airport hotels. Maybe this would work for you?? You could crash for the day and then later in the afternoon, go over to Disney.
