Really nervous about an ECV

The accessible area for guests with wheelchairs and ECVs in those 2 shows is in the back of the theater.

Hmm not trying to be contradictory but we were smack in the middle of both shows when we saw them, the crowds were really light and the theaters were in no way packed to capacity. They pretty much let us go wherever we wanted, but that could have been also due to the cast members now knowing about how to handle disabled guests.

Not contradictory, just different experiences.

We have been to those shows many times over the past 20 years with DD in a wheelchair. When it's busy, they often do ask that people leave the rear of the theater for guests traveling with wheelchairs and ECVs. That doesn't mean you have to park there, but there is a fairly large space behind the back row of lean rails where people can park wheelchairs and ECVs without having anyone close in front of them. If you park in the middle and it's busy, if you can't stand, you may find yourself only seeing the tops of the screens above the other guests heads.
It's not a problem when it's not busy, but can prevent you from seeing when it is more full. This picture shows the lean rails and the space at the rear.

This picture shows the view from the rear of the theater. Because you can move freely, it is easy to avoid having someone in front of you.

Also, because of the large space at the back, someone who is not comfortable driving between the lean rails will find more manuovering space there. Also, if you need to leave before the show is over, it is easy to leave from the back where you don't have to worry about getting by other guests in the row to get out

The only movie/shows where you have to stand for the show are in China and in Canada. There are no other shows in any parks that don't have seats. Those 2 attractions have rails that you can lean against, but no seats.

If you look in the Epcot FAQs thread near the top of this board, you will find some information about the different Epcot attractions, including pictures of American Adventure. If there are specific ones you are interested in, please ask.
There is some information about attractions which have no place to sit while waiting in this thread.

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know. I will read the threads at the top of the board too. Thanks for hte pictures also.

Might I also suggest picking up a copy of the Passporter's Open Mouse House? I find it to be extremely helpful about all kinds of accessiblity issues in WDW and the DCL.
