So were going in November to Disneyland and I've been looking at different options for how to get from LAX to Disneyland and back. Here's what I've seen:
-Super Shuttle is by far the cheapest. $144 RT for my family. It's a business express so it would just be my family and the ride is non-stop. I've seen lots of one star reviews (as recent as August) about vans not arriving, showing up late, etc. Are these just disgruntled people or is it a common thread?
-The Disney Express coach and the Karmel shuttle are $200 and $216 respectively. With the coach if you miss the pickup time you're stuck for a hour. And the shuttle may have multiple stops before yours.
-I got a quote from Lansky for $240. I've heard glowing reviews everywhere how personal and attentive they are in servicing you.

My thinking is this, if Super Shuttle is that much of a disaster then I'd probably go with Lansky. It is a $100 jump but I'm feeling like the $40-ish upgrade from the Disney offerings would be worth it.

But I was hoping some of your experiences and insight would be grateful. We're spoiled from the fact that we have only gone to WDW and had Magic Express to contend with.

I think you mentioned in your other post that you wanted to make this a magical trip for your family? If so, then Lansky it is! But I would definitely do an internet search for discount codes. Also look into Uber/Lyft. I'm pretty sure you can improve on that price quote.

I’d vote for Uber. Some times an XL + an X will do for a large group, should transport 10 people and would probably be cheaper than a dedicated shuttle.

Won’t work if you need car seats.

I have always used the Disneyland Express in the past but as you said, if you miss the bus you are stuck there for an hour (I liked it better when it was a pick up every half an hour). Also they have been late picking up at the hotel. This year since I am going for my birthday I have opted for Lansky. I wanted to treat myself and my new boyfriend to something a little extra special.

Depending on how long and where you're staying I vote for renting a car. Are you going to want to go to the beach or do anything outside of the parks? Some of those round trip shuttle prices are close to a few days of car rental.

If renting a car is not an option, uberXL could work for you.

Good luck making your decision. We really prefer to have a car in California, but I know not everyone does! Enjoy your trip!!

I believe the OP has said in another thread that he basically has a group of 4 adults. So no car seats needed.

I took the super shuttle when travelling solo in December 2012 and hated it. The driver was not great and he crammed luggage in. I was in the shuttle with another Aussie family and we were all shocked by him. I have been in contact with Lansky about our trip in December 2019 ... a bit of a planner and they have answered all of the numerous questions and changes that I have proposed. We will definitely be using them travelling to Legoland and then to Disneyland. I used the Disneyland express on the way back to the airport and had no issues, and we will probably be doing the same next trip.

If it’s just 4 adults, UberX will do as long as you don’t have a ton of luggage. Plus many times you’ll get a small suv or small sedan like a Camry with a good sized trunk to stow your bags. But hey, I drive a Prius and it will hold 3 medium suitcases no problem. 5 in a Prius is a bit crowded, but it can be done.

As far a renting a car, remember that many hotels charge to park so be sure to factor that in when you compare pricing.

I've waited up to 2 hours for the Disneyland Resort Express... On that tiny little concrete island in the middle of the two roads. Never again. When I called, Their dispatch had zero idea where their busses were, and basically told me I wasn't looking enough. But they have been sold twice since then.

While I haven't done Lansky's (we don't fly in to LAX), that's who I would go with.

Just my two cents but I would pick Lansky - I've not used them but I've never read anything bad about them. I also will never use SuperShuttle again - we had them booked for our Vegas trip in July with a reservation and when we got there they said it would be AT LEAST! an hour before a van would be there...seriously?!? With a paid reservation??? It was frustrating so we just took a taxi to the hotel and we were at the hotel more than an hour before I got a notification that our SuperShuttle van was ready. I'm not sure what has happened to SuperShuttle because I used to take them all the time but I haven't had a good experience the past few times and this last one just topped it all off. Anyway, as I said, just my two cents... I never want to wait an extra hour when I'm trying to get to Disneyland :)

i just booked super shuttle for a trip next weekend - booking process easy and good times posted - will post my impressions when we get back if wanted

I agree with others and would choose Lansky. We used them last year. We flew in to Long beach our flight was delayed about 2 hours. As soon as I landed I received a text that our driver was waiting for us. And there he was. He helped DH with the luggage and had a booster for our 6 year old niece. Got us to DLH quick. Drove safely and didn't talk much which was great since girls had fallen asleep and they had no idea we were staying at DLH.

I kind of like to be in control and I feel that with other companies they might get there at the time promised or they might not. They might pick up other people or not. I rather pay more and have reliable trans portion than be left waiting especially with kids.

I would choose Lansky because we've only used them. So I don't have any experience with the others. Lansky is reliable and the price we've gotten are usually reasonable.

However, I will say that although they are professional, courteous and generally friendly, I consider them a private transfer and not a luxury experience. It may be different on different cars, but we've always had SUVs and although they were clean, there was nothing luxurious about it. I book them each time because of the service and with our past transfers (except for once), we felt safe and comfortable with no worries.

I just booked the disneyland express bus for 2 adults and 2 child. Total was $110 roundtrip. Promo code AOC

How did you get $200?

I used them for the past 3 years. No complaints here and service was excellent.

What website did you go on to get that price? I was on Disney's site.
