If it helps, galahad, my head was thick as a brick when I woke up, but some caffiene helped!
I saw Ian and the boys about a month ago. They played the first set with a young classical violinist who couldn't have been more than 24 or 25. The most amazing song of the night was watching her violin, Ian's flute, and an accordian do the most amazing version of Led Zep's Kashmir. It had the audience on it's feet.......
I have the CD. I used to have the album, but someone borrowed it and never returned it! The CD doesn't have all of the music the album had. I might just dig it up and play it tonight! Thanks for the memory jogger!
Galahad, at the concert I mentioned earlier, they handed out to every ticket holder a full CD of Aqualung done live at the XM studios last year. Very interesting stuff, with lots of banter between songs. I have no doubts that you'd thoroughly enjoy it!
I remember going to see them in the late 70's-1980 for a show where all they did were title tracks from albums, and Locomotive Breath thrown into the encore. It took us 5 or 6 songs to figure out what the game plan was, and then it was great fun trying to figure out when Minstrel in the Gallery or Too Old to Rock and Roll.... would be played. I think that tour was the only time I've heard A Passion Play done live.
