Really concerned about May....

we've gone the same week in May for I don't know how long and it's always been F&G show, Star Wars, etc....I never remember the resorts being full....but maybe now the word is out about May being so awesome!

I've decided to not worry, if the parks are too crowded we'll just do our tours and hit the resort pool or the water parks!

Don't forget about Memorial day weekend at the end of may. I have been down there many years over memorial day and it was always busy. One time MK was even closed, it was so crowded. We haven't been down that weekend for a few years now...probably 3.

still searching, I haven't tried calling but do you think anything could be wrong with the reservation system or it's truly that booked?

If you are only looking on-line, I would definitely make that call! Disney only allocates a certain number of rooms and such for the web site. Doesn't mean you'll call and they'll have all sorts of stuff suddenly available (as others have said, there are several events in May that could be fillling it up), but you may have more luck finding what you're looking for.

Its not going to be as bad as you think. It doesn't matter what time of year it is, when you get to be a few weeks out, availability is hard to find at some resorts- especially small ones like the Polynesian.

Last May was the kick-off of the 50th Celebration at WDW and EVERYONE was saying it was going to be insanely crowded-- and it wasn't at all. I think its going to be less crowded this May than it was last year.

What are your dates for May??

I was thinking the same thing. We were there the end of April until May 5th and it was great, even with the start of the Happiest celbration on earth.

I expcet this year to have less then that. (May 6th to 9th for us this time) Just because the resorts are full, doesn't mean the parks will be. There is a lot of park attendnce that isn't staying on prop. Also when we were at SSR in Jan we heard the resort was full. However it did not seem full at all. Infact we are pretty sure the 1 bedroom next to us was never used.

I think I will try calling today - I am starting to have withdrawls anyway from not making any ADR's or changes lately.
