Really complicated dining plan question......

We arrive on Saturday late afternoon and check into POFQ for one night. The next day we move to OKW, staying on DVC points, so inelligible for the dining plan. WE are there for 5 nights. Friday we check back into POFQ for one more night. We arrive Saturday(one meal) stay until the following Saturday(2 meals). WE seem to be eligible for the dining plan for the first and last day of our trip, accd to MS. Here is my question:

Would the dining plan actually work at all? We check in around 5pm.....so does the plan start when we check in (so dinner on Sat, B, L on Sun?) or does it begin that morning? How about the last day? Would the plan work for all of Friday or Friday when we chekc in until Saturday check out? Would the points we acquire on our first night's stay just keep being "good" for our whole WDW stay? Does this seem like a good idea at all?

I believe you have to stay for 3 nights and book it as a package to get the free dining.

The dining plan is only offered for a minumum of 3 night contiguous stay at a resort. You get a day's allotment of meals for each night you are booked. A 3 night stay will give you 3 TS, 3 CS and 3 snacks. A 4 night stay will give you 4 TS, 4 CS, and 4 Snacks...etc.

All meal credits become available upon check in and expire on midnight the day of check out.

But they have to be contiguous, and on the same reservation. Jumping from resort to resort or splitting stays will not work with the meal plan.

I completely trust all of the responses i get on these boards! They are always so accurate....MS told me that because we are staying on site, even though part of it is DVC, we can in fact book the dining plan for the first and last night. Your info about expiration of points was very helpful. Thanks.

I don't suppose you can switch that first day at POFQ to be on the other end? Then you would be three nights in a row.
