Am I setting myself up for an epic fail?
We are staying 3 nights at Coronado Springs, on 6OCT(Mon) we move to RPH for one night. If I understand this all correctly, I would be able to take advantage of the early admission and express pass both 6&7Oct, correct?
So, realistically, how early do I / should I catch a transfer (or would cab be better?) to get me from DW to RPH so I can get "checked in" to get my passes, so I can walk through at RD, to dash it to Gringotts, all to avoid a later arrival and 3 hour wait in line?

Yes, I know I can dash to Gringotts the morning of 7OCT, however, DD is going home early on 7OCT and unable to try for the 2nd day.

There are 4 adults altogether. We are attempting to enjoy all the HP attractions in both parks and the 100year show in one day. This is NOT a HHN night for US.
And by the way, does the 100yr show play on off nights from the HHorror nights?

Make sense? Has anyone left a DW hotel and made it to US for a rope drop? Did you actually get to sleep the night before? :scared1:

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

If you want to make to an 8 opening then I would say you need to leave disney by 6 am. That will give enough time to get to hotel, check in, get express pAsses, and walk to park entrance.

Keep an eye on hours as it gets closer in case they change.

that monday and tuesday, the parks will close at 8:00 pm.
usually that is not the case but UO may be expecting more in the park this coming october.

we won't know until later if EE will be earlier than 8:00 am.
if the line waits are still long in mid september, it might carry over for the next month. just a guess on my part.

i have been staying at RPH for october for years.
i'm checking out of disney hotel and checking in to RPH on the Sunday/5th.

my arrangements are with private car service and getting there early.

if you leave at 6:00 am from disney, you will avoid a lot of traffic and be able to do the check in process and have the express photo id cards made.
you'll have plenty of time to hit EE if it opens at 8:00am.

(i find private car service works best for me but a cab is also a great way to switch hotels.)

some mornings they do let you in a bit prior to that time.
talking about 5-10 minutes.

look for the sign "hotel guests" at the entrance and show your hotel card.
the gate you are sent to will let you enter for EE.

check the UO website for dates of cinema spectacular show.
nothing is listed now but it will be by september.

if it is normal crowds for early october, you should be able to do parry hotter in the day.
if there are issues of lines, ride breakdowns, you can catch what you miss on the first day the second day at EE.
(i guess that depends on the time your daughter has to leave for the airport that tuesday.)

yes, it is possible to transfer from disney to universal hotels, check in and do EE.
that is the way i have been doing it on my split stays.

Oh Thank You! Thank You both for not looking at me like I'm crazy to try this. 6am it is! Geesh! I will need a vacation when I get home! :lmao:

Macraven - you mentioned a private car service, do you have a good recommendation for one? That may be easier than a random cab.

I will keep watch on the posting for the Cinematic Show. Also if the park hours change.

I saw where it is a short walk from RPR to IoA. About how long of a walk to U.S.?

Also, I know the Hogwarts Express goes between parks. Is there a walkway between Potter-Worlds? or if one chooses to walk park-to-park is the only way through the front gates?

Thanks again!

I don't think you are crazy! We will be moving from the Yacht Club to the RPR on Aug 9 for our first trip to Universal. We are very nervous about getting on Gringotts without a long wait. I know EE is 8AM that day so we were hoping to be in line by 7AM. We were planning on having the cab pick us up at 5:30. Do you think that gives us enough time to check in and get our Express Passes? Is there a time that the hotel starts printing them or is it whenever you get there? I am also curious how long it takes to walk to US, we have 2 adults and 2 teens who are totally on board with the early morning plan!

YAY! Well it's nice to know I'm in the company of additional craziness!
From what I understand, both from these boards and talking with US reservations, arriving to RPR early, storing luggage and getting passes printed is all possible at the 7a hour. Woo! Hoo!
I was also told its about the 15-18 minute walk from RPR to US, or a 5 minute water taxi. They run for the EE hours.
I have yet to confirm all this info in person. Hopefully someone else will jump on that's done this to add their two cents.
