real life vs. internet

what is your personality difference? do you do things on the internet that you'd not normally do in person? are you nicer on the internet? do you speak your mind more when you type or when you speak? are you more up for anything when you're on the internet? what are the differences?


my differences aren't many. i try to be the same person in real life as i am on the internet. i don't want to be mean on the internet, but sometimes it comes out that way, since it's hard to show feelings and the tone of voice makes it hard. i'm way crazy in real life but i'm usually pretty high-strung on the internet, too. in IMs when i say "lol" i usually laugh out loud, so i really laughed out loud xD. when i make the little faces, it's how i feel. like i'd really be winking in real life. i try not to let the fact that i can't get physically hurt on the internet like i can in real life (if i go too far with something) change me. i try my best to behave just as good as when i'm in real life. i'm pretty much the same person as i am in real life, so you'd know my personality anywhere.

I'm not too different online.
I tend to speak my mind over the internet more than I would in real life.
I'm also a little more open over the internet...which is kinda weird sometimes. lol
Other than that, I'm just me.

I'm pretty much the same too.. excpet.. some of my humor.. is sarcastic... so everytime I try to say a joke.. i have to put "lol" so people won't get the wrong idea.

but also!! when I put "lol" that actually means that i'm smiling lol

I'm a lot more open on here than I am in real life. I wouldn't talk to random people if I saw someone on the streets I wouldn't start a random conversation. That's just not me. I'm open on here, though. I speak my mind on the Internet, too. Some of the stuff I say on here I normally might not say in real life because I'm not sure how the person would react.
EDIT: And on the Internet I can say whatever I want to because if someone was arguring with me I'd probably stutter in real life. I'm a lot more sarcastic on here than I would be in real life.

The only real difference I can think of is that I'm more vulgar in real life.
I guess this only pertains to when I'm on the DIS, since this is a family friendly site, but I try to keep offensive jokes and such to myself, haha. Esp. because I have no idea how people I meet on the net will react to stuff like that.

oh, and I also think I'm a bit more understanding online? I can be a real judgemental witch sometimes in real life, but I try to give my online compardes the benefit of the doubt. (not that I'm totally mean! lol, I'm nice, I swear!)

But as far as being 'more open' online, I don't really think so. I'm pretty much the same in real life.

I'm much more quiet and shy in real life. When I mean that...I mean really really quiet.
I usually wouldn't talk to many people but here I'll talk to anyone.
I'm a lot more funny on here than I am in real life.
Most of the opinions I say on here I don't in real life because I have friends who would get all up in my face and get offended about it for no reason.
I guess I really am who I am on here more than in real life.
I just don't show it in real life. It's easier for me to talk through writing or typing.

But in real life i can be much more mean if people make me really mad.

I'm less outspoken online than in real-life. Normally, I'll say whatever I'm thinking when I think it, but online, I'm too lazy to type everything out, so I tend to shorten my thoughts.

I'm just as understanding and accepting and such, though. My personality is the same, too.

VERY different:

RL--quiet, shy, I don't talk much, I don't have many friends, I'm afraid to speak up about my opinions, etc.

DIS--outgoing, talkative, tons of friends, everyone thinks I'm this gorgeous super-confident chick, etc.

Im pretty much the same. I tend to say lol a lot though. I don't know why, I have a dry/sarcastic sense of humor so I don't want people to be mad and I say lol after pretty much every sentence. Especially texting/AIM. I usually am not laughing, or even smiling. & I almost wanted to put lol after that sentence. anyways. I think I stay the same on the internet, I hope I do.

I'm pretty much the same personality wise, except I consider my internet life the PG version of my real life. I curse, am really sarcastic, make fun of everything, and find innuendos in just about anything.

Basically in real life, I'm everything that would get me points here.

I'm pretty much the same. Sometimes I'll open up more online, especially about crushes, than I will in RL.

Also, in RL, I tend to get a sailors mouth, especially late at night, but I have to filter that on here. lol

I still don't wanna hurt people's feelings, so I hardly ever argue. And all those touchy subject threads I only lurk. I never post anything cuz I hate fighting.
