This may be an old story but it's new to me, so I was interested in fact-checking it and possibly getting more information.

I just read a story online (similar to this account http://disneylandreport.blogspot.com/2013/05/hidden-gems-real-bones-on-pirates-of.html) claiming that Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney Land was once chock full of real human skeletons provided by UCLA and still contains one real human skull.

Does anyone have any information on whether this is true, how the skeletons came to be obtained, when they were removed, how/why DL decided to leave one real skull, etc.?

What a perfect time of year to learn more about this story. Happy Halloween!

While unlikely, I would like to volunteer my bones to be included.

See and I thought this would be about people dumping ashes in the water.

You know that is what I was thinking also. I know my DH would love to have his ashes there. Oh wait, I guess so would I. Love the ride.

I have heard it from cast members. I am more inclined to think it true...

The skull & crossbones in the headboard is real. I believe it came from UCLA Med Ctr.

Or I should say, they used to be real. I believe that they were possibly the last real remains that were finally removed a few years back. I believe Tony Baxter confirmed that. Haven't seen anything about this since 2009 or so.

We know a person who did indeed put some ashes from their dad in Disney World (and also at the old course at St. Andrews). I am sure it happens often.

There are so many legends about DL's PotC that I don't even know what to think anymore :lmao: From Walt's body being buried beneath the attraction to real human skeletons decorating the walls. Who knows really? I'm not sure whether this is true or not, but it is quite a popular DL legend.

Dead men tell no tales!

Well if their were any actual remains on a ride it would be Haunted Mansion...

so I'd have call BS on this rumor.
