It cost almost $30,000 to become a citizen.

This is not true. My late husband came to the United States with his parents from The Netherlands when he was four years old. He had a green card (permanent resident) until he was about 40. At that time, he decided to become a United States citizen, which he did. It did not cost much at all.

If Joe G. came to US from Italy with his parents, it doesn't mean he is illegal. That is ridiculous. I assume he is a permanent resident with a green card. Of course, it is possible he was born here. Time will tell.

Finally catching up on this news...wow! Kim G is loving this and going nuts on Twitter. https://twitter.com/Kimgranatell

Ok, so not only is Joe facing trial for the ID drama, now THIS?! Wasn't Joe also convicted of fraud a few years back relating to an ex-business partner? That speaks volumes...

How stupid/whatever do you have to be to lie/cheat/defraud so that you can live beyond your means. But then go on a reality TV show, have it broadcast to the whole country, allow yourself to be filmed making large purchases IN CASH, living this grandiose lifestyle, THEN FILE BANKRUPTCY?! They probably wouldn't even be in this mess if they hadn't filed!

This is fitting:

It has to be established how he is here. If he came here as a small child from Italy and never became a citizen, than he is an illegal immigrant.

By marrying Theresa, he was allowed to be in the United States without a VISA or a green card. But now that he is charged with these crimes, it doesn't matter anymore, he can be deported.

Marrying a US citizen does not give you rights to live in the US. My mother married a non-US citizen - they had to go to interviews to prove they were actually marrying for reasons other than a green card and he had live in his home country for the first 6 months of their marriage in order to obtain his green card. He got his citizenship years later. But Joe would still need a green card, regardless of his marital status.

ETA: You're also wrong about the cost to become a citizen. My husband moved her as a small child on a green card and got his citizenship about 5 year ago. It only cost us the filing & passport fees which were under $1000.

If you are on meds, then I am jacked up on the same stuff. :rotfl2: Kim was throwing T under the bus and then driving over it 10 times each way. WOW.

I was confused too, so I looked it up. Kim D is Tre's skanky sidekick. Kim G is Kim D's sister in law, and is not a big fan of Teresa's. Confusing, I know! :)

Teresa is good friends with Kim D. Not Kim G.

Is it the Kim G that used to be on the show and was Jacqueline's neighbor?

Yes. She was the one that Teresa pushed during her fight with Danielle a couple of seasons ago. She's another pot stirrer!

Am I the only that thinks that they are innocent until proven guilty?:confused3

In all likelihood they did something wrong, but the government needs to prove their case and unless I'm selected for the jury it's not my job to judge.

I guess I am also must be the only one who the IRS sends a letter to every few years questioning tax information, mostly for my business return, and EVERY TIME it was their error not mine! If anyone thinks because it's the IRS and the government pressing charges means the evidence is rock solid, then they are delusional! The IRS makes mistakes all the time! :rolleyes2

Martha Stewart went to prison for insider trading and tax fraud. So I say Teresa better get used to wearing orange and flats. I recommend she watch "Orange Is the New Black" on Netflix. She may learn somethin'.

I read an article about the Gov bringing these types of charges. What it said was that the Gov doesn't bring charges like these until they are very sure and just about airtight and the conviction rate is something like 90%. This is nowhere near the same thing as receiving a letter from the IRS. It's sooooo much bigger. In all likelihood they did a lot wrong. Believe me, the Gov has a case and they're not just grasping at straws. This investigation has been going on for years, including before they ever were on tv so that defense of them being targeted because they're "celebrities" or whatever is just smoke.

Melissa just couldn't help herself and had to make that comment to Teresa. "If you stay a good little girl..." Ugh. Whatever, Melissa. It was kind of hard to see Teresa's kids last night, knowing how hard things must be for them now. Because no matter the outcome of this case, life will not be the same. At a minimum, Teresa and Joe will be spending the bulk of their money on attorney fees. And there is a good chance they are facing major tax penalties, fines, and possible time behind bars.

Jacq just seems crazier each episode. She really needs to get off the show and take care of herself.

Totally agree.

I think the scene with Melissa just shows how she operates. She's under the radar doing this to get to Teresa and then acts innocent. She has a bunch of sisters, in my experience, there's always one sister who is an expert at it.

Its interesting that we are finally seeing/hearing about the real Albert (that's his name right) and Caroline.
