So, I know Julie mentioned the need for a new coffee vendor at Disney at the December event. I also know that most of the team are coffee fans.

I've spent the last two days at Sea World-San Antonio and last night was in desperate need of caffeine, I decided to find coffee. Imagine my surprise when it was STARBUCKS!

So if Sea World can have Starbucks why can't Disney? :confused3

Because they don't have a contract. :) Nor do they need to spend that kind of money to attract guests. They already have guests now.

And not everyone considers Starbucks to be very good coffee, either. Aside from a white mocha and the new blonde roast I could care less about Starbucks coffees and would much prefer a number of other places over them.

The Joffre's stands in WDW now have good coffee that is not Nescrape.

I'd love to see Dunkin Donuts coffee in the parks. I feel like that would be a good match for Disney because it's a readily available, accessible brand that a lot of people are familiar with. Plus, I actually like their coffee more than Starbucks :cool1:

Man, I totally agree with this! Dunkin' Donuts coffee is the best! (In a true test, Dunkin' Donuts coffee is actually, in an emergency, drinkable if cold!!!)

Sayhello

I always say they need a Tim Horton's in the Canada Pavilion to make it feel like home. :D

Are the Joffre stands the ones outside the exit of ToT and like the one back beside Mouse Gears? The coffee at those stands actually is good. I've had excellent lattes at both. Is there a stand in MK? That is always where I need a decent cup the most.

I'm not a huge Starbucks fan, but is far, far preferable to Nescrape.

I would love if they roasted their own coffee. It isn't hard, they could roast huge batches at a time and distribute it out across property. They could call it Mickey's blend...

I guess it is cheaper to just outsource it.

I don't even drink coffee and wish Disney would get some. Every single coffee drinker I go to WDW with complains about the coffee.

They all go in saying it will be fine and they all end up talking about it sucking.

All you Dunkin' Donuts fans should remember that if it were not for Starbucks and its business model, DD would probably not have had a resurgence. :goodvibes

Please no Starbucks!DD yes! They really do need a good coffee in the parks.
We always bring a bag a DD with us for our room but when visiting the parks,it can be brutal finding a good cup. When in the magic Kingdom just hopped the monorail to the poly. Its well worth it! Coffee in Epcot? Go to the countries. Animal Kingdom has some great spots for coffee also. Studios is the tough park to get a cup. Maybe Brown Derby?

My other half is living in Canada at the moment and loves Tim Horton's hot chocolate. Keeps out the Canada cold! I must try some when I'm there in 2 weeks time. :goodvibes

I agree Dunkin' would be even better.

I was just impressed that a smaller park with more limited options knew better than to serve glorified instant coffee.

That would be fantastic!!!! Every time I get up to Canada (or some parts of NY, since they are there too) I get Timmy's!!!! :worship:

DD is a good choice too!!! Before I got my Keurig, I would stop for my morning coffee at DD before I went to work. I have to finish off what K-Cups I have before I can get the DD K-Cups.

I'm a proud Canadian who has done my share to build the Tims'coffee empire. Never darken the door of a rink without one in hand, likewise meeting rooms, etc, etc. You get the picture. However, I swear they are now proudly serving Nescrape. :confused3

Ever since they changed the cup size, the coffee absolutely bites. In desperation, given my location last week, I purchased one of their so-called lattes. Worse than anything I have ever drank, even in WDW. The foam was distinctly chemical in flavour...like it was made from some genuine real milk-flavoured non-dairy product, and as the espresso being the base, who are they kidding. I poured the nasty mess out and contacted the company directly. No sense venting to the lovely staff behind the counter.

Anyway, you can tell I am still venting. :rolleyes1 I promise to stop! YES, WDW needs widely available decent coffee. Joffre's makes a decent cup, WDW just needs a whole lot more carts/kiosks.

BTW - Don't be fooled by another website that lists the "real Coffee around the World" The cart in the MK hub serves nothing but swill, either. I tried it - twice (shame on me!) Both times I did complain and the lovely cast members refreshed my cup with an additional shot of "coffee" aka tasteless coffee syrup. Made the beverage darker. Period. Didn't even understand what I meant when I asked asked if they "brewed" coffee. Yes. Shame on me for trying it, twice. :sad2:

I must have missed something -at what point did DD need or experience a resurgence? In my region they've been going pretty strong for about 20 years now. I would say Starbucks had a near zero influence on their business -this just being from a casual observer.

I don't care if it is Starbucks, DD, Caribou, or anything else as long as it starts as coffee grounds instead of the sewer sludge it starts as now. It is a think concentrate that they just dilute with water.

Quite frankly all I would need is a Lavazza stand to open at the Italy pavilion and I'd be happy.
