I keep seeing this commercial for readybeds. A small inflatable bed for children that includes a pump for inflating and a pillow. You can get it in Dora, DPrincesses, Spiderman or Thomas the Train. They cost about $50 inc S&H. Anyone purchase one? Is it worth the money?

I don't have a personal experience with the Readybeds. But I have seen them online on Amazon and ToysRus for about $25 or $30. So, I would try there.

I considered buying one for my son for when we travel, but I decided on the AeroBed for Kids. It was $80 on Amazon w/ free shipping. I felt is was of better quality and the sheet/cover that comes with it is really soft.

We just tried it out for the first time on a trip to the beach and my son loved it! He's still in his crib at home, so I was a little worried...but he did great and had no problems sleeping in the bed. I even fell asleep with him once during nap time. So, I would recommend this one, even though I have no experience with the other.

I will look into that, thank you.:goodvibes

I would rather pay extra and get better quality and comfort.

We just bought a Readybed for our upcoming trip. I got it on sale for $20 at Kmart. My son hasn't used it for sleeping yet, but we've blown it up and he's "tried" it out. It seems okay, definitely not worth $50 plus shipping and handling though.

We also looked into the kids Aerobed and I think I would have preferred that. The only reason I didn't purchase it was the weight was significantly more than the Readybed (I don't remember the difference offhand) and since we are flying, I didn't want to have to deal with it.

:)

We use ours all the time at Grandpa's place for my 5 year old. I got it at Christmastime at Costco for $25.

Ours didn't last long at all!!!! One of them would deflate throughout the night... and I couldn't find a hole for the life of me...

They worked for a little bit ( I'm glad they were a gift and I didn't pay for them!!!)
But , I ended up throwing them away within a year...

My son recieved one for his birthday when he was 4, he's slept on it for 2 and a half years, and has now passed it down to his sister. I'd say go ahead and purchase it, try it out for a few nights, within the time you can return it, and if it deflates do just that. Maybe you could have a fun "camping inside" night or something.

:) They are good...but not worth $50. I got a Batman one at QVC for like $35. Last year I got a Thomas one at Costco for only$20. My boys use them to sleep at Nana's house.:)

i have 2 of them. they are light enough and pack small enough to fit in your suitcase for flying.

check target, they often go onsale and they are never over $25.

I bought a Cars one for DS at Target - for aprox $25. The only difference between that one and the more expensive ones on tv are that ours has a hand/foot pump instead of an automatic one. DS likes to use it to watch tv but doesn't do very well actually sleeping on it, as he tends to roll off...

I just saw some at Sam's this week for $20, I think. They are the kind that can also flip around into a chair type position. I know they had Thomas and several other varieties. I do have one with a hold already so I did not purchase another! Good Luck!

Our kids have them and love them. They use them for sleepovers and occasional "camping in the living room" nights. We also take them when we travel with my parents in their RV. We will be taking them with us on our Christmas week trip. I'll just ship them down and back to save on space. I figure we can put them in the closet during the day and still have the extra floor space.

My DD got one about 4 years ago - Wiggles. We didn't use it a lot, but it works. It has now been used twice by my DS 2. It might get more use from him because we have started camping a little. Ours is the cheaper one with a foot pump as well.

We got a Pooh one for my daughter from Target for around $25. In my opinion, it wasn't worth it. When we did use it, it was noisy to sleep on. We even tried letting some air out of the mattress so it would be quieter but it didn't help much. My DD also slid off of the bed a couple of times each night. She's too big to use it now -- grew out of it quickly.

We found that the kids liked sleeping on a 'pallet' better. We layer a couple of blankets on the floor (or a regular sleeping bag), give them a pillow and blanket and they're all set. I certainly couldn't sleep on the floor comfortably but somehow kids don't seem to notice...
