Ready to take the plunge, I hope

We'd like to buy 100 points at VWL. We would most likely travel between Oct. and January. What would be a good use month to look for or avoid? I thought a summer month but wanted to make sure. After looking, it seems like a really good price would be in the upper $60 range but more realistic in the lower $70. Does that sound about right? Thanks.

I would think a summer month as well. It seems that those. Also sell for a little less, so that s good for you. I haven't looked at prices for vwl, but take a look at the rofr thread.

Agree...If summer travel is something that would ever be considered, then a June UY would work well too.

The prices for VWL very from lows of $50'S to $70's resale. I would think you should offer what you feel you want to pay, and see if they are willing to sell, or counter offer. It doesn't cost any thing to try.

OP- make sure to get on the mailing list for the various companies that sell resale. You will get notification of new listings before they go to the company's website. We contacted the company directly and told them what we were looking for . They called when they had what we were looking for.

Don't get too hung up on use year. We bought with an August use year expecting to travel in either December or February. Now we mainly go in July or August. It isn't ideal, but fortunately we haven't had to cancel. I am sure that our travel habits will change over the years, so I am not too worried about it.

While we were searching for our resale i know i did not see a ton of vwl resales. You might not get your choice of UY unless you want to wait a while. It depends on how much you want it. We waited till our UY became available and I was willing to spend aa little more to get it as I have limited travel times.

As long as it isn't Nov.-Jan. I don't think it will matter. There really aren't a lot out there right now.
