I'm so excited for my first family Disney trip in October. How soon after your very first family Disney trip, did you start planning your second? Did you wait more than a year to go again, or were you back in WDW in less than a few months?

I KNEW before my first trip I would want to go again with my whole family (it was just my dd & I with friends the first time) but I didn't start planning until the plane home.

The first thing I did was send my MIL TONS of pictures! (I took 1500, so I had plenty!) It only took talking to her once about how wonderful it was and she "came up with the idea" for us all to go as a family! ;)

So, since Sept. 2008 I have been planning for Jan. 2010. It's going fairly fast though, but I'm a woman obsessed and already thinking about our NEXT trip! :lmao:

We wanted to start planning as soon as we got back (2008), but we planned another adults only trip for last month. Now, we're planning to go back again. The biggest hurdle for us is airfare, which is half the total cost for family of 4.

You can loosly plan, but until you experience it, there's no way to gauge. Even after 2 times, there still stuff I have missed, and stuff I could care less if I see again. Different trips can have different focuses, like character hunting, extreme rides, or some combination. The kid's ages will help steer you to or away from certian rides/attractions as well.

The minute we checked out of Pop Century to head home!!! :cool1: Imagine my surprise when I got home and called to book our next trip when they told me the prices weren't out yet:scared1: So I watched their website almost daily and as soon as they came out, I was on the phone booking our next trip. It is going to be this year for Thanksgiving!!! When I booked it, we had more than a year's wait, I think it was like 1year and 3months, b/c I booked in Aug 2008 for Nov 2009...now it is only 8 months away, it is going by faster than I thought...and we just paid it off!!!!:dance3: I can't wait. Have fun on your first trip and let us know when you return if you are planning your next one...I'm sure you'll be hooked just like all of us.

I love planning for disney trips! We took our first trip in August 2007, and started planning for the next trip as soon as we came back and I think we booked our next trip within a week after we were back. Went back for our second trip in June 2008, and we will be back in August this year. We are also already planning for our 2010 trip, hopefully sometime in June 2010.

Friends of ares took us in may 07 stayed on their points at Saratoga then went back in DEC 07 stayed at movies and two day into the trip we bought a dvc membership so we can go more , we went in Oct 08 and now in May 09 and we even got a trip planed for May 2010

We live in Canada and we only get to go once a year. Our 2009 trip is at the end on August, but I have already begun planning our October 2010, and May 2011 trips:cheer2: . My husband thinks I have a problem. Thats why it;s so good to come on DIS and feel normal :) .

Wow, I can't even imagine paying for a trip every year, especially with kids. This year we are taking just 1 kid and I think it will be a few years before we can pay for a trip for all 4 of us (and that is if we don't have another one!).

once you get hooked you plan all the time. We bought DVC and have our first trip home in August - I am already planning next yr's trip & the one after that! But I love to do it.
