Ready. Set. Go?

We did it! We've actually started our trip. 2 1/2 days of driving then the fun begins.

Made it to Virginia today. Only one meltdown and three seizures so its a good trip. Tomorrow we aim for Jacksonville.

Day two of driving. Charlie and I are a bit tattered. Ciara woke up at 12:30am and partied till 5am. She slept an hour and is fine. We're not so resilient. No matter, Jacksonville here we come!

According to GPS we will be there in less than 2 hours. If our room is ready, we will unpack and head to Epcot. If no room yet then straight to Epcot.

Arrived yesterday at 11am. Our villa was ready so we dropped our stuff off and hit Epcot. First meal was Marrakesh which was fantastic. Very few people eating so the belly dancer gave Ciara personalized attention. Ciara lived it. Even Brian enjoyed the music.

The park was quiet and we walked onto Test Track, Spaceship Earth and Nemo then just walked around. I was thrilled to find sketch artists in France. He was willing to sketch from a photo so I now have a color sketch of Brady to hang on the wall.

Our villa at Kidani Village is gorgeous with a wonderful view of the animals. As for the whirlpool bath. Takes the day right out of your muscles.

Just leaving Magic Kingdom and had a great time. Still quiet in the parks with no waiting for anything we did. Lunch at CRT which was fun. All of the princesses did a nice job interacting with the kids. Also the people at First Aid are great about letting us use their space for diaper changes and tube feeds.

Animal Kingdom day. Really hot which made Ciara cranky but overall a great day. I got to meet Donald Duck and Photopass plus was there to take pictures. At Festival of the Lion King the kids were chosen to parade around with the cast. Still very quiet and there was waiting only when we had to wait for the accessible vehicle at Kilamanjaro Safari. The wait may have been 5 minutes but I doubt it.

Sounds like you're having a good trip so far! I love the low crowds this time of year. We went the week of Labor Day twice and later in Sept three times. It's probably my favorite time to go because of that.

Yesterday we did a second day at Epcot. We absolutely love World Showcase. Got soaked during the afternoon rain but it sort of felt good. At least until we climbed aboard the air conditioned bus. Brrrrr!

With only one day to go I am laughing as myself and the things I was afraid of. Ciara has had only a couple meltdowns and only in our villa. No one has even seemed to notice when Brian is having a seizure. The bus system has been great and no one acts upset when we are boarded first.

Last night at the villa. We start the drive home tomorrow. Couldn't have asked for a better time. Disney has proved to us how well they integrate those with special needs. It's really nice to feel like a regular family.

Thanks to those of you who followed our vacation. I'm going to close, put Ciara to bed and then luxuriate in the whirlpool.
