Ready Bed?

Anyone have one of these for a kiddo? I'd love to hear some reviews and opinions. We're currently booked at the Dolphin for our Dec trip, and the kids HATE sharing a bed, so we were looking at a ReadyBed at Target for DD5 to sleep on.

We have a Ready Bed for my DDs, and to be honest, they don't really like it. I'm not sure why, because they like the idea of it, but eventually, they either crawl into the bed, or end up sleeping on the floor instead of the Ready Bed. Hopefully others have other experiences, but that was ours.

I don't know what the ones at Target look like now but we bought a Nemo one for ds that folds so it becomes a chair and he won't go near the thing. I also thought the fabric was kind of chintzy (sp?) - definitely not a high quality product IMO. How big are your kids? Have you looked at the aerobed for kids? It's more expensive but it looks more comfortable. Just thought I'd mention it.

Its probably the same kind, since the one DD wants is Princessess. DD is 5 and 38 lbs (andhappily sleeps on a beanbag chair instead of her bed at home :rotfl: ), so I figured it might be okay for her but I wouldn't dream of putting my 90 lb 9 year old on it!

Thanks for the link to the Aerobed. We have one for our spare room, but I didn't even know they made a kids' size!

Well if they look like the ones on Target.com then the one we got looks a little different because it's not one solid piece - it's 3 sections so it can fold into a chair. I think that's the most annoying part about it because it doesn't really provide an even surface to lay on. It makes a horrible chair too. I swear I'm never buying another product that is supposed to do more than one thing! They never seem to do either thing really well.:sad2: The ones on the Target site might be a little better. I bet the fabric they use for the "sleeping bag" part is pretty much the same though.

I bought one for my DGS for overnights. He used it one night. We decided it was awful. It made noise every time he moved. When it was in the chair position it was not very comfortable. I put it out for AmVets!!!

My dd has a ready bed (the sleeping bag with the blow up mattress attached, not the flip chair) and she LOVES it. She sleeps on the floor in it most nights rather than her bed. The sleeping bag part is just like any other sleeping bag, just more comfy since it also has a mattress.

The fact that it is Disney Princesses only makes it that much more attractive to her! :cutie:

My three year olds have Ready Beds and they love them! We take them to the NJ shore and the kids sleep on the floor in our bedroom. They've also used them for "camp outs" with dad in the playroom.

Weve gone through a few (due to changes in fav characters). DS 5 has used them since he was around 2, and I got dd (almost 2) the bolster style one for Christmas. When they were young, they would roll out of them (even with the bolsters, my dd always manages to roll out). We also have a toddler Aerobed which the kids & I prefer over the ready bed. Roll outs with it are rare since it is recessed in the middle. The nice thing about the ready beds is that if youre limited on space (both in a room, or traveling) theyre fairly small and light compared to the Aerobed. The pump that comes with the ready beds is a real pain and makes an annoying sound. Id recommend getting a powered air pump for it if you do get one.

We have/had one. My girls loved it. It has a hole in it that I have tried patching several times with no luck. I'd love to know how to fix this so they could use it again.

...I think that it's pretty much the same as the kids aerobed, but we have one of these for my DS to use at Grandma's house....It's from onestepahead.com, it's the "deluxe inflatable bed". It's got a nice fabric surface (not rubber, like an air mattress) and a little bit of a safety wall. My four year old loves it.
