I have been reading so much about the construction issues at AKL, that I am afraid that we will need to leave DC go over to AKL and check in and then return to DC. As it is, I am afraid that if we don't arrive at AKL before the 6:30pm time of arrival that I have guestimated, that we will be forced to take a room view of construction rather than animals. I don't want to be paying $$$ to look at construction, I drive by enough of that on a daily basis.

So, can you leave DC and return in the same day? Just curious. I am seriously concerned that maybe we should change over to the Poly. TIA. Maggie

I personally would go to AKL first, check in ask for a great room without construction, and then go to DC, you can check in really early, they just might not have your room ready yet.

I am planning a more or less full day at DC. I am thinking of changing our reservation......again. Gabby's going to shoot me, but I just want this to be as stress free as possible. I really would love to stay at the Poly too, so I might try to talk her into a bit more of an upgrade.

But, I would still like to know the info on readmission. Anyone? Maggie

This was a similar question asked on another board with this answer: "When I visited Discovery Cove a few weeks ago, you got a badge that was day stamped. I believe if you have to leave and come back, you can just flash the badge and if it's same day, they'll let you in. I never saw a no readmission sign. I'm sure Discovery Cove knows you might leave something in the car or have emergencies."

However, because of I-4 traffic, I would not recommend leaving Discovery Cove, driving to AKL, and coming back the same day. I'm sure due to rush hour traffic or an accident, I-4 will be backed up and you won't make it back to Discovery Cove. A better thing is to check in to AKL early and ask for a non-construction room. I believe you can call AKL around 3 or 4 pm to get your room number and make sure you have a good room.
