Reading The Shack...oh my!!

I am only half way through, but what an incredible book. I am not an overly religious person, I have my questions. This book really opens your eyes and gets you thinking. WOW.

I feel like going out and buying a bunch of copies and handing them out to my friends and family.

I have heard alot of good things about it. I actually had it on hold at the library but when my time came to pick it up I decided it was too heavy and depressing for me.(I make a habit of trying to only read "FLUFF") I might have to put it back on hold again. When I did the first time though there were 49 other hold requests for it so I will have to wait for months or just buy it.

I have it lined up on my pile of books to read this summer, I've been eager to read it, but the last three books I've read have been really sad and I need to take a break with something light and funny.

I was about half way through but stopped, but I am thinking of taking it with me to the hosp. to finish on friday, after all, how much tv can you watch there and I think I might have to stay in the bed for a few days etc. so it will be good to pass the time. I am finding it a good read so far. Really gets you thinking.

I just finished it. It was really good. I'm not religious but I really enjoyed it. Makes you think about those things in a different light.
It is not light reading but I wouldn't say it was a depressing book. I put off reading it to as soon as I saw that a little girl is murdered in it but it doesn't center around the crime. It is centered around the healing after the crime.

I didn't enjoy this book. As a Christian, I didn't appreciate the incorrect theology that was being passed off as what the Bible actually says. I guess it is another case like The DaVinci Code. If you make sure that this book doesn't become your Bible, then great!

Hope that made sense and wasn't offensive.

what is it about?

It's about a man who is kind of fed up with (for lack of a better phrase), God. God asks to meet this man in the woods in a shack and it follows what happens when he does.

I need to reread several parts as I am not sure I got everything 1st time around.
Powerful read and ends up being very comforting.
