Just returned from a week at the world and we had a great time! I've been reading the boards for a few weeks and was a little concerned about all the complaints/fears/etc I've been reading about.

Swine flu, Pop Warner kids, bad service, foreign tour groups--If any of these issues were present, we didn't see them.

I only heard a couple of coughs while I was there, but didn't see anyone who looked visibly sick. Saw a few cheerleader groups, but no bad behavior by any of them. And we received awesome service from everyone we came into contact with; from the mousekeeping staff to the cast members at all the parks, everyone was courteous and friendly.

The only issue we had was that I thought the parade was going to be filmed at MK on 12/5, but they were still there on 12/6. And the Jonas Brothers were there!! We later asked a CM about that, as none of us had heard anything about them appearing. We were told that it wasn't advertised. It wasn't even a real issue, as we just decided to leave MK and go to HS instead.

My advice to those addicted to these boards (like me) is to take the complaints with a grain of salt. Magic happens when you make it happen. Don't let other people's complaints affect your trip home. You are at DISNEY WORLD for crying out loud!!! Relax and enjoy!!!!

We must've been there at the same time. We arrived on 12/5 and stayed through 12/12 at All Star Movies. Thankfully the weather was good. Only rained on Thursday....too bad that was DH's 40th birthday!

Only complaint we had was when we got up early to go to EMH on Thursday morning at MK. Only big ride that was supposed to be open was Space Mountain and it was closed. No one seemed to know why or how long it would be. It actually went down twice during our trip. We ended up leaving MK and going to Epcot without even doing anything. Our kids are 7 and 11 and kind of past the little kid stuff so they didn't want to stay.

How were your wait times? Longest one we had was 30 minutes and it didn't seem to matter what the posted time was. One said 80 and we only waited 20. We rode Expedition Everest 13 times in an hour and a half. Got off and walked right back on.

Decided counter service was better than table service because the food was just as good, cheaper and you were flexible with no ADRs.

I agree.....the magic depends on you!!!

I too take everything with a grain of salt.

We are just back (7 days now) and had I have listened to everyone, I would've been panicked about FD and crowds, the hotel being so packed you couldn't move and of course Pop Warner.
But we enjoyed ourselves very much. No issue other than 2 days of rain.
I figure if we could get dressed in warm clothes, ponchos and extra socks and head out for MVMCP in pouring rain, play, ride, and sit watching fireworks all while the rain pours down off our heads......and be happy, then anyone can be happy. It is what you make of it.

Glad to hear you had a good trip!!! :)
