Dilemma:
1. I'm really second guessing the Cali Grill ressie. All but my niece will be on dining plan, and I had only planned on 6 points for that meal. That puts a real crunch on the rest of the meals and will result in some shared meals at 50's and Alfredo's. I KNOW that the DP results in tons 'o food, so it's not so much that, but also taking my two tots to Cali on top of it.
Would it be better to eat at i.e. Kona, save the points, and watch the fireworks (if we really wanted to) from the Beach? Can you hear the music on the beach? We will have seen Wishes the night before after the gala with Cindy.

2. How hard is it/how long does it take to get back and forth to the airport. Is this a trip I could make pretty easily by myself? I'm not particularly afraid of driving in unknown areas, especially since I know that the two end locations (airport and WDW) will be pretty clearly marked. Other option would be to arrange a towncar or something for Mom and niece to and from the airport. Average cost is @$100.00, right?

Sorry for the long post. I'm having uber-planning issues.

What about switching from CG to Ohana's for dinner, where I've heard they pipe in the music for the fireworks, and you should be able to see them from the windows of the restaurant - if you can time it right. And then change yoru Ohana's breakfast to Kona Cafe for breakfast - their breakfast is fabulous!

I'm pretty sure I just read about this Ohana's fireworks thing in someone's dining or trip report, that they watched the fireworks and heard the music inside the restaurant. And it's not a character meal at dinner.

We got a towncar service that was great, but you're right, with tip it was $100. $82 before tip. It took us 35-40 minutes to get from Poly to airport and vice versa. It's pretty easy to navigate by car, but then you're taking quite a bit of time away from your family - ME a possibility?

I just finished reading Mel's update. That woman knows how to handle rudeness. I loved that!

I'm stepping out for about 10 minutes of :sunny: while I finish up my lunch. For some reason, I thought y'all wanted to know that.

GaCAt, I figured out where I saw that about Wishes in Ohana's - it was in the review section of AllEars. So I copied it:

April 27, 2006

We had 9PM reservations for Ohana's in the Polynesian and arrived around 8:45. Unfortunately, we didn't get seated for about 35 minutes.

This is set-menu dinner. Our Appetizers included salad, potatoes, and a variety of other delicious pre-dinner dishes. The main course is a number of different meats, served off a kabob. The steak and chicken were excellent. The pork was a bit dry.

We had an excellent view of the fireworks - they also play the same musical score as they do in the park.

You clearly need your new, super intelligent assistant to proof read your edits. Come on, dude. And I would be glad for the sun to be hidden by a large rain cloud this afternoon.

However ZZUB, based solely on your recommendation - we had never even heard of this movie - the NM's are going to dinner and to see Cars tonight. Not only have we not heard of the movie, we haven't seen the ENORMOUS display of toys at Walmart that were there a month before the movie was released. Disney really needs to do a better job getting the word out.

GA KITTY:

We love, love, loved CG. My kiddos were 7 and 3 and did great there. Our server brought them their own "appetizers" of Goldfish. In a cute little bowl. She really doted on them - what kid doesn't love that. And they can color on the butcher paper table cloth which helped pass the time. They did not have standard chicken finger kiddy fare - but we did ask them to make something that was not on the menu and they obliged. Check the allearsnet menu - it was pretty accurate.

The view of MK is something to see, and the music for Wishes is piped in on the observation deck(and I think the restaurant, too). They even have new speakers for better quality - they informed us of this last March.

I can not compare to the Poly restaurants or watching Wishes from the beach, as I have done neither, but you have lots of kid-friendly stuff on your agenda. If you want to do the CG - go for it!!!

TINK - Your art is really good. You should be really proud.

See ya'll on the flip side... :)

Sid ~ Let's party. For real.

Sheri ~ PM me pics. Pretty please. Chop chop.

Flicka my friend ~ The pants then underwear thing was great. But... that's the right order isn't it? What's so funny about that? Ah. Maybe it's just a Canadian thing. Again.

Everyone else: Throw out your toothbrushes.

AND... this kills ME: I FINALLY GET CAUGHT up and I realize that the sun is probably NOT shinning... I mean shining... anymore. But... I'm going to check now anyway. Here. In Canada.
