Am I really the first one up? Actually I"m not, really. Up, that is. I woke to the sounds of rain on the roof which isn't so startling (sigh) except that I remembered that I left the windows down in the sitter's car yesterday. So I had to tiptoe out and remedy. That.

And the rest of you guys are along for the ride, I know. I debated about posting this. Posted it. Deleted it. But I can’t very well tell you we are family, and then not share myself.

Oz, I have been thinking about you this past week. A lot. In part because of what you shared with us last week. But mostly because my own miracle babies turned 20 this week. And that makes me sad. Not in the way you might think. I don’t feel old. Heck, I was barely older than they are when I had them. It’s that they’re adults now. Not my babies anymore. They don’t need their mommy anymore. But it’s bittersweet, because even though they don’t need me in that way anymore, they are my friends. Which is a huge accomplishment given how difficult the teenage years are.

I struggled to conceive them. And carry them. And it was my issue. Words cannot convey what that does to you, to me, as a woman. Strikes at the very heart and soul of you. What you are. Fortunately I had a dear friend who was a specialist that would not give up on me. And the love and support of a man who wouldn’t either.

My point Oz, is this. I respect and admire you. As a man and a husband. Your wife is lucky to have you. I am a lucky wife too. This is an issue that can either strengthen a marriage or tear it apart. The love and support you have for your wife shines through in everything you write. Except the puke. And the farts. Of course.
