This popped into my head today during an MSN conversation, so I thought I'd make a poll (and since I don't know how to actually make a thread as a poll----4+yrs on the Dis and I still don't know how ahaha)

I'll just do it this way,

When you read chatspeak (ie' LOL, BRB, ROTFL)
Do you;
a) Read it as what it's intending to say (LOL = Laugh out Loud)
b) Read the letters (LOL = Elle oh elle)
c) Read the letters as a new strange word (LOL = LAWL)

just a random question....discuss.

C. It's really funny, because I'll always say "lol" IRL, and my friends are always like, "ra-full."

(I'm also trying to convince people that I'm going to major in lology when I get to college. You know. Study of lols.)

A) i never read the letters, i actually say it in my head.

lol is definitely 'lawl' for me.

but brb is just b - r - b.

lmao i read as 'lame-o' even though it means something else xD

and omg is 'oh em gee'

umm usually B but then it clicks that it means Laughing out loud...it usually takes a minute though

C.

I'm ashamed to say it, but at times my friends and I actually use chatspeak in spoken conversations. Mostly just when we're being goofy, but it's quite funny.

Mixture of them all. When reading Disney abbreviations like RNRC or OKW, I read it as what it stands for. In other things like lol, or brb, i'll read the letters. For some reason, I read rofl as "roh-full" or lmao as "lum-oh"

A mix of A and B.

LOL = el oh el.
BRB = be right back.
LMAO = el em ay oh.
ROFL = are of eff el.

I like, sound them out like they're real words. brb is so fun to say, its like 'burrb'.

so, C.

elle oh elle. It must be C for me.

Oh em gee, I'm not alone on this. Are oh eff elle!

OMG = Oh My Gawd/Gosh.
To me at least.

Lol - Lawl.
Brb - Be right back.
Rotfl - Rawthefull. xD
Lmao - Lame-o, sometimes I read it as what it stands for.

I used 'lol' a LOT when talking. It just sounds...right. They'll be putting it in the dictionary soon, ;)
