I have heard of HIFS being changed to Nickolodeon. Are the renovatins getting in the way anywhere in the hotel. Don't want to go and hear jack hammers...... Thanks for the info if anyone knows......

We just came back 12/12-12/19 and we did not see any renovations while there. I spoke with the front desk people as to what to expect in October during our next vacation and I was told that they will be doing the hotel in sections. Meaning they will do their best to place you as far away from the construction as possible. Otherwise I would suggest you contact them and inquire about the current construction as it gets closer to your travel time.

I've had a hard time getting a straight answer. I emailed days ago and haven't received a response. My dh called yesterday and all they could tell us was that one of the pools would be open, meaning that one of the pools will be closed. One of the big draws for us is the pool. If one will be closed while we're there, that's going to make the other pool incredibly crowded (and if the zero entry pool is closed during the summer months, it's very stupid business on their part... they couldn't tell us which pool would be closed). We're holding on to our reservations for now but will probably be staying onsite. I don't want my vacation experience ruined by a crowded pool and construction noise.

One pool closed? Ugh! Does anyone have an idea of when this is all happening? We are going in March and love the zero depth entry pool for our non-swiming 3 year old....if that's the pool that is closing, I'd rather stay elsewhere...guess I'd better call and see what they say.

I was told that rennovations are due to begin in February and no work on the pool areas is planned until May and that one pool will remain open during all rennovations. All scheduling is subject to change though...hmmmm.

We are going about 15 of us from April 21 - 30, 2004 and that is pulling it close to May. I just emailed them to see what they would say to me, usually everyone gets a different answer. I will keep ya posted....

Just got off the phone, with reservations, then the front desk and then sales......they say (got notice today) construction is to start in March and the first pool to be renovated is the lap pool on the west side. They will always have a kid pool open. They are adding slides, etc to the lap pool and when that is finished (July 1) they will open that pool and close the kids pool and renovate that. Hope this answers questions, We are going in April and have to deal with only one pool being open, although there is a small chance construction will be slow and the 2 pools will still be open.........
