I posted this in another thread, then was afraid it would get lost. I apologize if someone already answered in the other thread:

Hi - I have a question re: pins. My mother who never goes to Disney - ugh - got a postcard with a pin. Can she book a room with her credit card for me? Like she is giving it to me as a gift. . . the card says non-transferable, but I was wondering if that counts gifts. Anyone know?

Thanks
Angie

She has to be there in person at check in I think.

I called yesterday and was told by a CM, which could change depending on who you ask, that is the last name is the same, you can use it.

You know what, just call and give it a try. The worst thing that will happen is they will tell you no. You might be surprised at what the CM will do for you.

My mom has remarried, so it isn't the same name. But we are going to try anyway. thanks

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Thanks!
Angie

I think you can book more than one room with a PIN... maybe mom would like to go???

I was told by a castmember that you had to be in the same household. That is what a realtive of mine was also told. But good luck!!

:sunny: I got a post card with my sister's name on it, it came to my house (with my home address on it), & CRO/Disney Travel let me use the card & the CM said as long as it shows my address I could use the post card w/PIN#. She told me to bring the post card with me to check in. They checked everything; my address; phone #; zip code...I thought they even might want my SS# :confused3 but all was good...................

We are off to Disney; June 13-16, 2005............just me & the DH (the 2nd time in our 19th years of marriage).....all by ourselves :love2: while the child is @ LSU for music :rolleyes1 camp !!! :cloud9: we'll be doing the happy dance :dancer:  :cool1:  :dancer:

I just got off the phone with a CM that told me that a code that we got was my father-in-laws and we can't use it, change our ressies or check in unless he is there !! "They are getting real strict about the codes" she said. She was very nice but said that I would have to cancel my online ressies and have him rebook everything in his name and our dates must be the same !!

I asked why he got the email code and we didn't.... :confused3 ..she said that they are probably marketing the middle states to get a bigger turn out from that area (he lives in Kansas).

Hope the info. is helpful !!

Loads of folks on the DIS from New England receive these codes all the time. Think she was just trying to answer your question with a guess.

:confused3

CM told me the same thing - the person who's name is on the p/c has to check in, OR if the address on the card is the same as yours. I tried to use my DDs code but alas - the word is nay!

My mother who often "travels with us" b/c I am the one who books the rooms when we all go--got a post card at my address.

They said as long as the address is the same--anybody in the household can use it.
