1. Is the petting zoo worth visiting if it consists of a monorail ride, then a boat ride, etc.? Is it easily accessible to wherever the boat lets off? I think I read you then have to take a FW bus? If the bus ride is long, or we have to stand and wait a long time for it, I'm sure my husband won't want to go.

All thoughts/info would be appreicated!!

(we have PS at 1900 Park Fare at 11:00 am the day we arrive and want to spend some time cruising the monorail and boat system while waiting for our BCV room to be ready)

Thanks,
Pam

The petting zoo is at the Settlement Depot between the Pioneer Hall building where Hoop-De-Doo is performed and the Settlement Depot bus stop. If you take a boat from the MK, the boat dock is about 100 yards from the zoo, quite easily walkable.

The only way you would have to take a bus to the zoo is if you drove your own car or if you arrived by bus from a location that uses the Outpost Depot stop only (AK, Epcot, and DTD buses). All of those will leave you off at the Outpost Depot and you would have to take an internal bus (either purple or yellow) to the Settlement Depot.

Buses to FW from Disney MGM Studios and the TTC stop directly at the Settlement Depot bus stop.

Great!!! After breakfasy, we can take the monorail from GF to MK, then a boat from MK to FW. I think the kids will really like it. I don't think I would have gone had we had to have then taken a FW bus to the petting zoo.

Thanks for the info!!

Pam

I agree that it is easily walkable from the boat launch. We've been to the petting zoo a few times. Bring quarters to buy food to feed the animals. They are a bit jaded and won't come over just to be petted, they are waiting for food. Pony rides are available too for $3, I think. The parent leads the pony on a trail through the petting zoo.

Don't miss the large barn across from the petting zoo. Here is where they keep the LARGE horses for parades and such. Amazing to see up close.
