Hey there...I'm looking for some information reguarding weddings with DCL...My big questions are....how long does the whole even take? We'd LOVED to get married at CC but wer'e wondering if we'd have any time to enjoy the island when we were done with the cermoney? Also....does anyone know what other options there are? Like onboard options on sea days?

From what I've learned the whole event on Castaway Cay (including pictures) shouldn't last more than an hour or so and then you go over to Palo's for a private reception (cake and champagne). Everything should be over by noon so you would be free to enjoy the island during the afternoon.

If you were to be married on the ship it would take place the day before while you are at sea in Sessions (the reception follows immediately after, also in Sessions). At Castaway Cay a Bahamian official performs the ceremony and onboard it is the captain (I think). Your legal ceremony is actually done in the terminal before you leave, a notary public performs the civil ceremony and you sign the wedding license.

I'll be able to give more details at the end of January. I'm going to be married on the Jan. 14th 7-day Western cruise on the Magic. Only 56 more days to go! Woohoo!

Thanks so much for the responce.....Do you know if you have to have the reception right after the cermoney? Or can you do it later that evening after you leave CC?

And if you do it on a sea day...you HAVE to do it in Sessions....both the cermoney and the reception???
