Can you re-freeze meat(burger and chicken) after it has been cooked. We are having a open house serving taco's and fajitas we are cooking up the meat with the seasonings and freezing it if there is any left over can that be re-froze with no problems. I know you are not supposed to re-freeze raw meat but didn't know about cooked meat.
Thanks

I used to do it often with hamburger before I realized it was easier to cook it BEFORE freezing, but that's another story. ;)

And we often freeze turkey and even ham after it's cooked and those are nearly always frozen when we get them.

I've done it with shepherds pie (made from left-over roast), with fish pie (as the fish is froze, I defrost it to make the pie, cook it then freeze it) and with turkey, beef etc - If we don't finish a roast (:rotfl2: )I freeze slices in gravy to make a single portion for another time :thumbsup2

Just be careful about re-heating until completely hot. You can also use cold cooked meat for sandwiches that will be eaten cold - my mum often used to buy a frozen turkey if it was on special offer and make loads of sandwiches for the freezer, which then used to wind up in my lunchbox for school.:)
