We booked for three adults. Now my mother says she may not be going. Do we need to call and change the ressie or can they take care of it at check-in? Will we still have to pay for three? I don't want anything to get messed up so I try to call CRO only as absolutely needed.

Well, if your mom is a third adult staying in your room, if she doesn't go,
your rate will go down. I think you need to confirm that with CRO before
your reservation gets transferred to the resort.

You're not paying for the DDP (since you're doing free dining), but losing
the third adult will be a savings if you change your reservation ahead of time.

Let them know asap since, as it was explained to me, you can make any changes to your ressie, up until just before you get there, with no charge IF your package price goes up. However, if the change results in a price reduction, they will charge a fee. The fee goes up the closer you get to your trip. Since your mom isn't going, your rate will go down (extra adult in room, plus extra base tix (if that's all you purchased)).

From my understanding, the resorts are getting very picky about everyone showing id at check-in so as to avoid the phantom guests some people book so as to get more free dining (for only the cost of a base tix).

So, I would call today, if possible, to minimize the cancellation (change) fee.
