I don't think that's it, personally. I believe it's people, mostly NOT locals, who want to see all the holiday offerings before they go away. Many people take Christmas to NY's off from work (and of course school) and catching the holiday festivities before they disappear is something that many choose to do during the week.

This is even more so why I don't believe it's local AP holders. They KNOW this week is insane and have made sure to see all the Christmas offerings before this week arrived.

Quite a few people that I know got DLR tickets for Christmas and are there this week!
A friend of mine actually just got engaged in front of the castle too!

I definitely agree with what everyone is saying, and how the huge crowds are most likely a big mix of all these different variables that just so happen to occur around this time of the year (Christmas money, APs as gifts, time off, celebration, holidays, rain last week = change of plans for this week, etc)

YES. But i was not reffering to AP locals. just park guests in general and travelers .. i just didn;t know how to put it.. i also mean from other states too.

We came from 9 hours north to visit family in the San Fernando Valley, and since DL seems so close to there (1-2 hrs) after driving all the way to what we call "LA," it was a fun choice for us to spend a day at DL.

We wanted to see the Christmas stuff, and we have only been to DL 3 times, so we have no sense of what is "crowded." Maybe that's why we had such a blast yesterday.
