Hi,

Have some extra banked points and someone who wants to rent them. However, since you now have to pay for the dining plan upfront, can anyone who has been in this situation let me know the best way to handle this for everyone. Is there another option w/o them giving me their credit card and I am not willing to put on my card for reimbursement. Thanks.

Have them purchase Disney Gift cards. They can then send you the number, PIN and amount on each card.

I believe you can also set up a 3-way call. betweem you, the renter and DVC. Then the renter could give the gift card numbers or, perhaps, their own credit card number.

The gift card option I think is your only other option. Is there a reason there not willing to give you there credit card info?

considering your trusting them to not leave you with any unpaid room charges they should trust you with there CC.

They could send you a check for the amount needed. You cash the check and use your Disney VISA and earn the points. ;)

In the past when my renters have wanted to add the dining plan I have set up a three way call with Member Services. Then the renter can provide their cc number to MS and pay for the DDP themselves. However, I would also be willing to accept Paypal or a check as reimbursement. Basically I would offer to do whatever the renter feels most comfortable with. There is a certain element of trust involved with rentals and I feel that good communication and customer service goes a long way to help build that trust.

Is it someone close by where you can get together? My cousin who is traveling with me in a few weeks decided she wanted it for her room. I didn't want the CC info either so we got together, I logged in to my DVC account, and we added it to the reservation online...when we got to the page to pay, she entered her own CC number and it worked great.

If not, as mentioned, Disney Gift cards might be a great way to go.

Good luck!
