RE: Customized maps not available to us Canucks

thanks so much for such a quick reply, I am going to order them right now, hopefully I recieve them while I am there.
I leave Sydney for Orlando on the 1st and return on the 9th. That should give me plenty of time.

I posted on one of the other boards, that I would love if one of my Dis buddies in the US would be willing to order me some and ship them to me I would love that. I got a PM and ended up ordering them in my name at her address, and she just emailed me and said they are on their way to me. I plan on sending something as a thankyou for being so thoughtful.

We leave for POP in 33 days and just ordered our maps to be delivered to POP. As another poster indicated, if we don't get them it's no big deal, but we're hoping there will be a package for us when we arrive

The maps arrived on our 3rd day at POP - so yes fellow Canadians, we too can get the maps - providing you time things right.

I also tried to get maps, I was ticked off I spent the time doing them, only be not have them work.. when I emailed Disney it was at that point they said it was not avail to CDN. I told them they could of put that on the site! ICK! I was so disapointed!

So it seems it took 30 days.
Can't decide to go that route, or try to send it to a friend of a friend's in Rochester. She always gets stressed at things like that, but all it is is picking up your mail, and handing it off to my friend in Oakville next time they visit her.
May try both routes, maybe one will work out.
Trip's not 'till Nov.

We received the letter and confirmation number that the maps were being sent (in time for our visit) We called twice and talked to Pop who guaranteed that the maps would be held for us..
When we arrived the girl at the desk had no clue what Maps we were talking about. We explained that they were being held for us and she disappeared for 20 minutes and came back and said "I dont know what you are talking about"
We tried 4 times (all with different cms and no one knew what the maps were about. Finally a cm brought us to the room with a pc and we contacted disney for the maps and they said to print them for us ( since we had the confirmation number)) Well guess what Their printer had no color ink.
They told us they would have disney ship them to us (for a keepsake) when we got home even though it was a Canadian address because of the mistake. Well we arrived home and Disney (Maps) said they would not send them.

I found the cms at the Pop Century very rude this trip. I brought many many Canadian gifts (along with the daily $$ for housekeeping we would leave ""Canadian"" backpacks,umbrellas, candy, ketchup chips (brought from Canada because I remember so many of the college cms saying they couldnt get them there))for them and guess what we received 1 thank you.

Our window was decorated from top to bottom and not one cm wished us a happy anniversary or graduation greeting We did receive wishes from many vacationers Which was extremely nice so if it was one of you THANK YOU !

We found the young college cm the friendliest ever!

We had a great time anyways I just dont want anyone to be too excited about having the maps waiting for you

Just wondering if anyone else has recently gotten the maps at the hotel? I figured that I would order 4 weeks before our trip. I don't care if they come as soon as we get there or not just wanted the keepsake.

You would have to time it just right to have it delivered at the resort. The company that send the maps is not Disney. It is a company called Royal Impressions. So asking the front desk where your maps are may be confusing to them.

You would have to ask for your mail - advise them that you are expecting a mail delivery while you are there.

You would have to probably have to enter the information into the order something like -
WDW RESORT NAME
guest Mr. John Smith stay Aug 20-25
111 Street
City, FL 11111

I think this is a lot to go through for no guarantee that you will receive them. Best just to print them from home.
