? re: BC rooms closest to lobby

We are planning another trip back to WDW July 2006 - planned originally to book at the Swan or Dolphin to try something new, but now we are worried it will be too hard for us not to stay at the BC again -we love it there. So, that being said, our decision has been made to return to the BC.

In past trips, we have been given Epcot-facing views, which were really nice, but they were waaaaay at the end of long halls - very tiring at the end of a long day! Does anyone have any experience with rooms closer to the lobby - how did you word your request?

I would just ask for a room closest to the lobby. I think there is a lot more flexibility to get what you want if you don't request a specific room number.

This is slightly dated, but a good website with the floor layout for the Beach Club http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm.

Dawn is correct, that you shouldn't ask for specific room numbers. As always, requests should be listed by priority also. Is it more important to you to have a full balcony, or be close to the lobby? If the room assignor cannot meet all your needs, they will usually at least try for whatever special request you have listed first. When you check-in, be sure to ask the CM that's registering you. They can easily look up what rooms are available and make a change if necessary.

Thanks for the replies - the resort map is great! It makes sense not to request a specific room. Our only other request will be for Non-Smoking for medical reasons - both DS and myself have asthma and smoke is a trigger for both of us - this request will be #1 and the room location will be #2. (We can live with a room farther down the hall if we have to, but having a smoking room would not be a pleasant experience!!)
