We are not DVC members (hopefully there's a "yet" in there) but we will be staying in a 2 BR at BCV 2/22-26. Posted this question on the "Resort" board but didn't receive much info regarding a specific room (or area of the complex) to request. So I thought I'd bring my question to the DVC experts:
Can anyone describe the possible views and relative location to "things" such as pools, restaurants, etc. Try as we might we have not yet been able to find info showing the location of the villas (have seen great pictures of the building and rooms though, thus our reservations). Has anyone stayed in a particular 2BR that you could suggest a room nbr we might want to specifically request? More interested in view than convenience if that narrows down what we're looking for.
Thanks for any suggestions; I'm just not comfortable flying blind and I'm hoping someone can ease my anxiety.

I wouldn't suggest requesting a specific room, as that really asks for disappointment. Most views are of the quiet pool area, a few look towards Epcot and some look towards BWV/MGM.

The entire resort is located behind the BC and is a short walk to SAB and the restaurants in the BC.

Here is a BCV configuration report that may shed some light on your questions.

Have a great trip! :)

Hi, we stayed at the BCV in Sept. Doc has answered your questions about room configuration so I will touch on the resturants! We ate in both of the Beach Club resturants, Beaches and Cream and The Cape May Cafe. They are both a small walk, but the entire walk is covered if it is raining. Beaches and Cream is an EXCELLENT place for a great burger and wonderful ice cream. We ate here 4 times in a 6 night stay!! We even tried the Kitchen Sink, a VERY large ice cream dessert.
We had both a breakfast and a dinner at the Cape May Cafe. (they do not surve lunch) The breakfast is a character breakfast that I highly recomend making reservations for in advance. We had tried to eat here on a prior trip calling just a day or two in advance and were unable to get reservations. The character breakfast is a buffet that is WONDERFUL!! The characters are: Chip and Dale, Goofy and sometimes Minnie Mouse. They do not guarentee Minnie's appearance.
The dinner at Cape May Cafe is also a buffett, and it is a clam bake. We had another WONDERFUL meal here one night when it was raining and we did not feel like walking into EPCOT for dinner. No reservations were needed this night. I can't wait to eat here again!!!
There are a few pools to choose from. The closest will be the quiet pool at the Villas. It will be right beside the building of the Villas. The large and wonderful SAB is about a 5 min walk.

Let me know if you have any further questions :teeth:

and enjoy your trip!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

WebmasterDoc, I had seen your post long ago but I must have been so overwhelmed with information I wasn't quite able to understand. This time around it all makes perfect sense. Thanks so much, we all should really appreciate the incredible amount of work you've done.
I find the reasoning behind not asking for a specific room perfectly understandable and was just asking for a room number as a reference point to put on a request. So your suggestion, if we wanted an Epcot view, would be to send a fax requesting 5th floor with a view of Epcot? Would that be sufficient? Is that too specific?

and SCDizneyDawn, thanks for the recommendations. We saw the  Kitchen Sink a couple of weeks ago when Great Hotels on the Travel Channel was at the Beach Club. How many people were in your party that you actually dared tackle it?
Is the character breakfast every morning? We'll be traveling with my ds's friend-12 who has never been to a Disney Park so we are looking forward to doing as many Character things as possible. Good to know I better be making PS ressies soon.

TeamMom,
We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. We did not finish it, but it was fun trying!
As far as I know the Character Breakfast was every morning.
We also did as many Character things as possible. We had a freind with us that had a 4 yr old, she had never been to Disney World either. She wore a Minnie Mouse dress to the Character Breakfast, the pics were great!! :D
If you read my post from that week (in September) it tells a story about my best Character interaction ever! It also talks about the 2br we had at the BCV in Sept. We requested Epcot View/ Illuminations View on our reservation, but we booked as soon as booking for the BCV was avail. They are supposed to assign requests based on when the reservation was made, but that may be different on a cash reservation. :D :D
