So are you saying that the articles in newspapers and travel sites about RFID cards being skimmed by portable readers are lies?

the media only know what they are told to say. and they get paid for scaring people and misrepresenting things. Much like the Iphone 6 -- which has not a single new feature that hasn't existed on other devices for 2 years -- yet the media is going gaga over it like it is revolutionizing the world.

i am saying the information contained on a passport rfid is pretty much useless. Its like hiding your license plate on my car -- people can still see its a Silver 2005 SV6 with a male Caucasian driver. at it don't really help them much at all.

As for identity theft -- there's a lot more and easy ways to do that without accessing obscure documents.
