RD Joy/Sadness and Baymax

Hi all! I'm planning to enter through IG on 12/2 after my Ale and Compass reservation at 7:35 am. If I am at IG a bit before 9, will I be at much of a disadvantage from the main entrance guests looking to rope drop these character M&Gs?

I'm mainly worried they'll be let into the park earlier or farther than I would be at IG. Never entered from that direction before.

IG guests will be allowed in at the same time as guests at the main entrance. You’ll be a little farther away from the Character meet and greet area but it shouldn’t make much of a difference in wait time at park opening.

We’ve hit Joy and Sadness right at RD in 2016 and after hitting TT in May. There wasn’t much difference. The first year they didn’t start meeting right away anyway. It was between 30-40 mins each time.

Ouch. I was hoping to get through a bit faster. I was seeing people saying they got through by 9:15 (perhaps getting into the park a bit before 9).

The year we went there first, they did not start right away at 9. We were let in the park a little early - maybe 10 mins. They started at about 9:15 or 9:20. We were 3rd or 4th in line so it came out to around 30 mins of wait time from the time we were let in before 9 (but not the time we waited before RD). That was the first year they were meeting though. That year I saw in several places that they did not always start right at park open. Maybe they’re better about that now.

We did RD and went straight to Test Track then rode Soarin and then went to the Joy/Sadness m&g. We probably waited less than 20 minutes in to out not even going straight there. We didn’t wait for Baymax. His line was l get and kids didn’t want to wait since no autograph.
