I have only ever used our points at WDW, if we wanted to go though RCI how do we deposit a week?
Also is it possible to use banked points for the deposit into RCI and how early/late can we deposit them?

Disney gives you 2 options. By far the best for most situations is the request first where they only take your points if you match. The only reasons to use deposit first is if you have points that would be expiring unused and RCI was a way to extend their life somewhat. Just look at the list, investigate the resorts then call DVC and tell them what resorts and dates are acceptable to you. You can use banked points to deposit first or to request first but you don't want to leave banked points sitting there unused just in case. You normally need to deposit a good 2 months or more prior to the end of the UY. Technically the unit DVC gives them must start more than 45 days after the date of the deposit. Make sure you get all the ins and outs if you consider deposit first. Remember once you match, you lose the DVC points forever and it is a final transaciton. IF you cancel you will lose your exchange fee and may not get anything else in exchange effectly losing the points as well.
