RCI Trading Question

How exactly does it work when you trade into RCI?
Let say I wanted to goto St Marteen for a week in January of 2011, there are 3 RCI resorts there.

Do I call member services, tell them the dates I want to go, they check availability and if there is a room then my points get taken from me and put into RCI points and the room is booked?

Do they convert the points and then check for availability, and if there is none I'm just out of luck?

You have a general grasp of it, but you are starting to look a little late. You can also depsoit points into a trade and have them search for one for you. When it comes up, they'll contact you and ask you if you approve of the trade before they take points out of your account (unless you have pre-deposited points in for a trade).
