If you were wanting to trade out to RCI for a week in Las Vegas for the fourth of July 2017 would you book it now or wait? There are two resorts currently available: The Cliffs at Peace Canyon and The Grandview Las Vegas. I'm not concerned with being "ON" strip. I am concerned about not being able to get my time frame. Member services says other resorts may come available at the 10 month mark but I don't know if I want to wait till then.

I would wait, LV is easy. You should be able to get the Wyndham Grand Desert or Hilton or Bluegreen all better and closer than those. Likely the other Wyndham and Worldmark are better overall because of location. Hilton will likely come on board about 6 months out. There are other resorts on the II side if you know anyone that has access. You can likely get a rental there for a significant savings over using points.

You might also want to consider a direct exchange (a private arrangement between individual owners). Many folks here (on this form) and over on TUG own multiple 'brands' of timeshare and likely have direct access to booking one or more properties in Las Vegas.

Or likely better still, one of the independent exchange companies and try for the Marriott.

The most economically way for you would be to rent your DVC points and find a Timeshare owner to book your stay. Especially if you are looking for a 2 bedroom timeshare to rent. Both Tugbbs.com and redweeks.com have a marketplace area where people list their timeshares!
