RCI Trade for Kaanapali (Pool Closing)

A pool is nice but not necessary in Maui. In the Maui revealed book you'll find great places to hang out in the water. Even in the ocean with a toddler. I'd just bring some blow up type baby holders like the one that looks like an intertube with pants attached to hold them in. Most pools will be cold anyways and the ocean water is much warmer.

Before I made the reservation I reviewed the RCI webpage, tripadvisor, hotel webpage, and several other websites before committing to this resort. It was weeks after I made the reservation that the pool closure information was released. I am an avid researcher prior to commitment.

Good for you. You can't protect against everything but it does make a difference.

For future reference.... also search the threads on TUG and TS4MS as part of you research. This is where the timeshare owners hang out and share information.

Only September? It seems like I'd been hearing the KBC pool closing stuff a lot longer than that.
