Does anyone know what the closest RCI resorts are to Disney? Do any have free shuttles? I stayed at one RCI resort years ago and it was a lot further away than we expected. Also, the shutle turned out to cost us around $9/day/peron, which we also weren't expecting.

My dad wants to trade for a condo, but I don't want to be too far way, being an on-site lover myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

The sheraton vistana resort is very close and does have shuttles. We traded in with RCI and had a very nice time. check it out.

if you are staying offsite - get a rental car!!! It will be cheaper in the long run and your schedule can be more flexibility.

most timeshares charge from $7 to $12 per person per day to use their shuttles.

We're staying at the Vistana Resort 5/22 - 5/29/05. I hope it's nice. We've always stayed onsite except for the first 2 trips - we stayed at the Royal Plaza. I don't know how we'll like this compared to onsite, but I couldn't pass up the cost - FREE!!!
A close friend of my husband's gave us a guest certificate thru any RCI resort and naturally I picked Orlando!!
I may have to book 2 nights at POP to take advantage of Early Entrance though.
Does anyone know if I book 1 room for 2 nights @POP, will everyone in our party get to do the early entry or just the four people assigned to the room. We have 4 adults and 2 small children (3 & 4 yrs old) traveling with us. I am planning on letting my 2 grown daughters stay at POP with the 2 boys.
TIA

I don't know how close above is, but I can tell you OLCC borders the ALK/AK. If you are in one of the villas closest to AK you can even see Disney fireworks at night from the balcony.
I own a timeshare there and love it. There are also Official Disney CM onsite.
There are shuttles to get around the resort but don't know about to Disney. If you are even considering going offsite, you must rent a car. Do a search on above and OLCC. My mom also purchased a week after ours so we have 2 weeks at the resort. Have fun and happy planning.

Silver lake is very close to the AKL - about a mile - but the Sheraton Vistana gets better reviews.

I do what you are trying all the time - it is very nice - I spend one day at Pop Century then day off (remember the ID resort is still good) - then go again the following day. (get 4 days for 2 days stay)

Anyway I have never had a bigger party size than the room allowed.

I haven't gone with children in years - but I don't think WDW expects children tohave their own ID (keys) - to easy for little one to lose.

so just get the 4 adults.
