RCI Question

My boss was kind enough to let us use her timeshare for our upcoming WDW trip. We are supposed to stay at Vistana Resort. On Friday I asked her if she received a confirmation, as I wanted to use the Diamond Check In and you need a confirmation number. I told her I received a complementary hold e-mail, but never a confirmation. She said she received nothing, but not to worry, because with RCI, if you don't confirm a hold, its automatically confirmed. I'm really worried that we will show up without anyplace to stay. Unfortunately, she left for vacation yesterday and won't be back until mid-April, so I'm getting really nervous. I told her as much and asked her to check, which she said she would, but never e-mailed or called me and now I have no way to contact her. I am going to e-mail her today, but her e-mail will be sporatic during her trip. Does anyone have experience with RCI and know if this is true? I'm a compulsive planner and this up in the air stuff is starting to make me nervous. Thanks for any advice.

I've used RCI once when a friend let us use their week in Aruba. They faxed me a certificate from RCI that stated that Mr. Soandso was gifting his week to Mr. and Mrs. Whosimadoosi. And it had the dates and a comfirmation number and everything. That was a couple of years ago.

I have an RCI timeshare and used it in 2005 to go to the Sheraton Vistana. It was absolutely awesome and the pools are too. I didn't receive any info re: confirmation early so I just kept calling. I would try calling straight to SV just to check.

My aunt used RCI to book two rooms for our trip at Sheraton Vistana and I know she recieved the confirmation papers within a few weeks of booking it. Try calling the hotel direct and see if they show you on there...

I'm not sure that you'll have any luck by calling Vistana directly. I believe that RCI sends upcoming confirmations to the resorts about two weeks before check-in date.
If you have your boss' RCI membership number you'd be able to contact RCI about the reservation. But lacking that you may just have to wait until she gets back.

My uncle used to use RCI alot when searching around for places to stay, but now with sites such as SkyAuction and LuxuryLink who needs to purchase timeshares when you can just rent...at least that is what I think!
