RCI on Disney Property

We have used our RCI off property and see that we can stay 'ON' property next time.

Can you take advantage of the meal plan by doing so?

yes you can. but you must pay cash - no free dining.

but they only take the best of RCI - good luck

Sorry never done a meal plan before so I am not familiar with the in's and out's...

And when you say the best of RCI, you mean people with high trade value?

When anyone stays at a DVC property unless you are paying out of pocket for the room you have to pay for your dining plan. So when they offer free dining the only way you can get it free is if you pay out of pocket for the room.

As far as I know, you can book 7 months out. Depending on when you are going, trading into DVC might be hard. Traveling during off peak times might be easier to get a room.

Also if your RCI off property is in the Orlando area there is a regional block ( I think it may be within 100 miles) that does not allow you to exchange into Disney property

We're doing just that in just about a month. We have an RCI resort in NC and trade using RCI points. We took a week at SSR the week after Thanksgiving.. This is our first time doing this, and we can't wait..

PP are correct, there is no offer of free dining when trading in, so you'd have to pay for it at checkin (although i think i have elsewhere that this policy has changed recently and you pay when you add it).. Also you get to take advantage of Disney Transportation and Magic Express from teh Airport!!

If you can get one, it's definitely worth doing!

DVC deposits about 11 months out and about 7 months out. If you have weeks you should start an ongoing search about 12 months out. The block on RCI Orlando timeshares is a 30 mile radius.
