Please forgive me if this is not the appropriate place for this question.

We are looking to trade into DVC in Jan or Feb 2012. We're not picky about where but now that RCI has revamped their website I see that we can combine weeks to increase our trading power. One of our RCI weeks shows a trading power of 26 and another shows a trading power of 13. Uncombined I can see 1 bedrooms at AKL, OKW and SSR and studios at OKW, BWV, SSR and WL. All of these options show a trading power of 25. If I pay the $99 to combine my weeks for a total trading power of 39, will I see any benefit, meaning 2 bedrooms or possibly BLT?

TIA for any insight you can provide.

You can "see" weeks beyond your current 26 now by simply changing your RCI search settings. The default search settings, shown in a dark blue bar above the search results, are "You are currently searching » Exchange Only , Bookable Only." Use the "Click to Change" link on the right side of the same line to select "Show all available RCI vacations."

Edited to add: FWIW, I saw the same Studio/1BR options each at 25 TPU when I searched this morning. I was searching with a 40 TPU deposit and didn't happen to see any 2BR or 3BR units.

Thank you! You are wonderful. :)

No BLT in RCI yet. Most of them have the TPU of 25 for all of them from Studio to 1 bedroom.

I would wait to combine until one comes up and you need to. Remember it is $99 to combine plus the exchange fee of $179 plus the $95 resort fee at checkin.

Yes. Thank you. Good to know that I don't even need to think about BLT then. :) Those fees do add up, don't they? I think we'd be okay with a studio and fantastic with a 1br. I just had it in my mind that if we could get a 2br we could bring along one of the grandmas. Not necessary though. I know the kids would love AKL or WL and if we can keep that other week open for another trade somewhere else I'd like to do that anyway.

Thanks so much for the help. :)

There have been a few weeks over 25---mostly 2BRs, mostly in high-demand seasons.

When I checked, everything I saw was 25. I have a current trading power of 24 for my 2011 week. UGH! That is at 100% as well. My brother and I share our RCI. I get odd years, he gets even. His week (2012) has a TP of 31! However, he normally rents his unit out bc he needs the cash as he lives 8 mo out of the year in Mexico. So... I won't be going to Disney again for a few years! I guess at least I can combine by 2011 and 2013 points.

Does anyone know if I trade and use say 20 out of trading power therfore leaving me 4 left over... if I combine that 4 with my 2013 trading power units, do you still pay the $99 to combine?

Put in the request, if the power requirements for the weeks you'll accept drop for any reason, you might still be successful.

I had weeks I combined and used for a DVC trade, I had three 9 TP weeks combined to make 27, used that for a 25 trade that left me with 2 points left over.

I think that my have answered your question? I think you can use any combination of tradeable points to make that 25...no matter what the expiration date of those points.
