Can I put in banked points to RCI? The points I banked were put into April 2020 use year (they are 2019 use year points). If I can what is the farthest out I can use these points.
Thanks for any help!

IF they allow you to use banked points to make a reservation on RCI, you would have to use those points by Dec.31, 2020. RCI will charge you $100 for an extension of time to make a reservation and do a trip until Dec.31, 2021. I made a RCI reservation to Hard Rock Riviera Maya, all inclusive in Mexico a long time ago using 2019 points for this November of 2020. We decided too risky to travel outside the country this Nov, so RCI allowed me to put back the points into RCI, but pay a $100 extension fee to book and use a reservation by Dec.31, 2021. We were bummed...I snagged such a great RCI deal a long time ago...pay 4 nights all inclusive fee, get 3 free...We were dreaming of a fun all inclusive vaca, something that we haven't done in a long time...Good Luck!

I'd call MS. That's not how I understood it. I thought you had 2 years after RCI deposit to use points. So, depositing banked points in Oct 2020 would be good for RCI travel thru Oct 2022. Also, there is no reservation fee for travel at thru 2020.

Points banked into your April 2020 use year are good for trips between 4/1/2020 and 3/31/2021. (So you still have several months left to use the points for a DVC resort vacation).

You can deposit banked points into RCI up until 45 days before they expire. (You could deposit them up to 14 days prior to expiration, but if you deposit them less than 45 days in advance, your RCI booking options will be very limited). Check out this link (and for more information, expand the KNOW BEFORE YOU GO section & scroll down to find the RCI Disclosure document):

A whole different suggestion....

RCI is a known bad deal. Instead? Do what we (DVC owners) always dreaded....

Find the agency of your choice, and RENT OUT those DVC points. You will accomplish two things:

1) Recover the cost of your stolen points.... and perhaps a bit more.
2) Put a 3 inch railroad spike in Disney's ability to rent standard rooms - even at "discount".

Her points weren't stolen. They were 2019 points banked into 2020. She has 9 more months to use them for DVC resort reservations and still has options in one of the Collections (including the World Passport Collection/RCI) & the BVTC.

I would appreciate if you would look at the new RCI disclosure document Effective June 1, 2020. You seem to be the expert.
I started a thread (see below) asking if deposit deadlines had changed. Thanks.
Has anyone confirmed the current deadlines for when expiring points now need to be deposited into RCI?

@dismedvc - I am by no means an expert on RCI. I have never used it, but know that the Member's website & RCI Disclosure Document covers most questions.

ETA: They have updated the RCI Disclosure Document since I last looked at it (in March, 2020). Deadlines for deposit have been removed from the Document, so they may have changed. Members should call for that info if they are considering the "deposit first" option.
