RCI cancellation

I am a month out from an RCI trip I booked using my Disney points and I may need to cancel. Am I understanding that if I do, my points remain with RCI, have to be used by Dec 2014 and I can only book 59 days ahead of time. If that is true, can anyone comment on how easy it is to get a good RCI vacation with only a 59 day reservation lead time?

RCI Cancellation Policy. NOTE: The cancellation period and penalties don't line up correctly for the last two. 44 to 7 days, the penalty is the second paragraph. 6 or less days, you forfeit all points.

The chances of getting anything good is very slim unless you're looking off season or just very lucky. Your DVC points used with RCI will become nearly worthless. You'll also have to pay another exchange fee to use them. As noted, it's 44 days or less, no 59.
