We normally vacation with my sister and her family - my son(8 years old) and her daughter (7 years old) enjoy being together and our husbands enjoy each others' company. We have sailed both the Eastern and Western itinerary together. We are currently booked on the 9-day Voyager of the Seas in August. I just checked the price and its actually cheaper for us to sail on the Magic versus Voyager of the Seas by about $700. This is not true for my sister's family since they have 4 people and actually need to book 2 cabins since the Magic is pretty full. We have checked other weeks in July and August and have found that the Disney cruise is cheaper for us but more expensive for my sister's family.

I have given this lots of thought and remain torn between the 2 options since I love the Magic so much but also enjoy vacationing with my sister and her family. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I think this time I might go for RCCL. Disney will always be there, and it sounds like you might enjoy your sister and her children's company a bit more than the cruise itself. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE DCL, but it might not be a bad idea to check out RCCL, and then you can appreciate DCL all the more nest time!::MinnieMo

I would say go with your sister, It is alot of fun when your kids have other kids to keep them company. Is the Voyager a 7 night cruise? I know the Voyager out of Jersey is a 9 night cruise? Where do you live? Do you have to fly to NY and stay pre night?

Weigh all the pros and cons and for $700 to all be together, in my opinion it is worth it if you can afford it.

How about...

Going on DCL with your sister and splitting your savings with her?

My two cents
