We have some travel funds with Southwest but don't know how to use it up. Say we are taking RCL (freedom of the seas) debarking from Miami, but Southwest does not have flights from Buffalo Airport -> Miami Airport. But instead, they go from BUF to Ft. Lauderdale.

How far is Ft. Lauderdale to the port where RCL embarks?

Thanks!

I think it's about 25 miles?? Took us about 35 minutes a few yrs back. We got a shuttle from the AP which was pretty reasonable.

We have landed in Fort Lauderdale before and taken RCL (Explorer of the Seas) and I recall it taking roughly 45 minutes, but this was to the car rental agency by Miami airport that then took us to the Port of Miami as we had spent a few days in Fort Lauderdale ahead of our cruise and needed a car.

In any case, you are looking at between 40-50 minutes I would think realistically, depending on time of day you travel as it can get really busy at the Port. I remember it being absolute chaos.... but well worth it when on the ship and sailing away!! :thumbsup2

I would give myself at least 45 minutes. You never know how traffic will be from Ft Lauderdale to Miami. On a good day 20 minutes, on a bad 1 hr.

Hope this helps; we lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 3 yrs.

Thank you everyone! So it is possible to fly from Buffalo to Ft. Lauderdale, and take a towncar/taxi/whatever to Port Miami.
