Razor scooters...

Okay, for Christmas my DS6 is getting a Razor 'A' scooter and I want to get my DD4 one too. I'm tossing up between a Razor Jr (has two wheels in the back for extra balance) or just the regular scooter. I feel she might outgrow the Jr quite quickly but I'm not sure if she might be more comfortable on it. Anybody have any experience with either of these? Thanks in advance.

We bought DD the scooter with the 2 back wheels - it hardly got used, it didn't have the challenge that her brothers regular razor did and she would steal his scooter every chance she got.

Ds5 has been flying down the street on a regular razor for a couple of years now. We've had all types of scooters here, and the couple with the extra wheels were rarely used.

We bought DD's regular razors last Christmas when they were 4 & 6. They have both done fine with them. I looked at the one with the double wheel too and am glad that I didn't buy that one. The other kids in the neighborhood all have the regular and I am sure that my kids would have noticed that and wanted the 'big kid' ones.

We have both and the one with just 2 wheels gets used much more, even the 3 year old likes to use the 2 wheel one, the only reason she uses the 3 wheel one is that it is pink and "it matches" her outfit sometimes!

Get the one w/ just 2 wheels. When my DS was 4, we made the mistake of getting him a smaller (3-wheeled) scooter for Christmas. that he outgrew by the time it was warm enough out to enjoy it and by that time greatly preferred his sister's 2-wheeled one. Now DD9 and DS6 each have a regular razor, and my 4 year old wants one, too.

Thanks for all your help, it looks like the regular one it is. I'm sure she'd want a two-wheeler after seeing her brother with one anyway. :santa:

I'm glad I read this. My ds7 has the regular 2-wheeled Razor and I see my dd4 trying to use it. I was planning to get her the 3-wheeled one for Christmas. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get her the 2-wheeled instead (does it come in pink or purple?). I'm a little protective of her and injuries since she was just diagnosed with a bleeding disorder and I thought the 3-wheeled one looked "safer". But if she doesn't ride it, it's not safer just a waste of money.
