Razor Blades?

3 shaves... that doesn't even sound right.

If he shaves his head (like my DH) try a Headblade. You can find them at Rite Aid, there own website and sometimes Sally Beauty Supply. (I also think they are in ethnic/African American hair stores as well.)

My DH- who shaves head every day and face daily, can get about 2-3 months out of the razor. He does dry it regularly and is very meticulous.

He does like the new Shick Hydro as well. It was a freebie on our recent cruise and he took it.

Seriously, coupon and use rebates. One op mention $7 for 3 cans of shaving cream... that is so high. I can find a 50 or 75 cent coupon (for the same brand)--coupon doubled-- and each can is about 50-75 cents each. If it is on sale and doubles it is either free or less than 25 cents. Also check for rebates at like Walgreens, Riteaid and such.

I buy mine at BJ's using there store coupon and adding a manufacturer coupon to maximize the deal.

3 shaves :scared1: does he have human hair?? I get months out of one of those blades
The cheap throw aways maybe only a week but still more than 3 days

I use the Gillette Fusion and one of those blades lasts me about 2-3 months and I guarantee I shave more real estate on a daily basis as a woman than he does. :rotfl: DH uses a good quality rechargeable electric razor and no complaints from him or me so far.

My DH never gets more than 3-4 shaves out of his Fusions. I told him it says on the package "will last 2-3 months". He just laughs and shakes his head. More than that and it tears his face to shreds. Maybe it is different types of hair. He has coarse hair.:confused3

Maybe. My husband gets months out of his mach3s, he has to shave 5-6 times a week for his job.

Me on the other hand I barely get 3 uses out a venus, tried using mach3s and same experience. Granted shaving my legs is probably more use than his face, still crazy how fast I go through them. If I try and get another use out of them I tear up my legs.

I buy whatever gillette is free at cvs or cheap somewhere else. I don't buy new cartridges, that costs too much. I just toss the extra handles.

I know that this sounds obvious, but why doesn't he invest in an electric razor? He can then STOP having to buy disposable razors and blades! :thumbsup2

Because electric razors are expensive to begin with, wear out just like regular blades and are more expensive to buy replacement heads long term than using razors for the same amount of time.

An electric razor doesn't cut close enough for my husband. He actually has to shave with the mach3 and then go over it again a second time. He will still have a 5'o clock shadow by 2pm after all that. He has a full beard by the end of the weekend :rotfl:.

If he uses an electric razor he will get told he didn't shave at all.

You have to COUPON! Target, CVS, Walgreens always have sales on razors. The trick is to always buy the full razor - NEVER the refill cartridges. Horrible for the environment but great for my budget. I haven't paid for a razor in at least two years and I have about 45 in my stockpile.

I agree - DH and I were just discussing this. We have SO many free razors stuffed in a drawer it will be at least a few years before we need refills and then we will probably just start over again stockpiling free entire razors. And the newer razors have blades that last a long time - DH was just commenting on that - I think he's using the Gillette Fusion now. I have one - might be the same - and I haven't changed the blade in months and it's still fine and "replace" strip on it is just now starting to wear off.

WOW!! Only three shaves????? I use Mach 3 also and it lasts at least a month, maybe more. I bought a 10 pack about a year ago and still have a few left.

According to Clark Howard, the ultimate frugal one, if you dry the razor, you can use the same razor for a year. http://clarkhoward.com/liveweb/shownotes/2007/08/31/12606/

My husband buys the cheap disposable ones at Costco and uses the same one, shaving his face daily and his head once a week, for a week.

I read all posts knowing there would be another Clark Howard fan!:goodvibes

My husband always blow dries his razors and gets several months out of them.
He uses the Mach 3, which are costly, so I am grateful.

Wait a second. Where do you find FREE razors? I hate paying for razors and blades, too. When my MIL asks what I want for Christmas I will actually ask for razors so that I don't have to pay for them, that's how much I hate buying them. Such a rip off!

So, there is no CVS in my area but almost everything else is - Target, Walmart, Walgreens. Enlighten me. I don't ever seem to see good sales nor worthwhile coupons on these items.

You need to follow some of the coupon bloggers - try afullcup.com, Bargain Brianna, GroceryGame - there a ton of them. They will post when there's a sale at a store that combined with a coupon will make them really cheap or free. I think just a few weeks ago someone had some razor on sale for $4 (normally $8) and there was a $4 coupon from the paper to use on it, so it was free - that was probably either Walgreen's or CVS. Walmart is not usually a place where you can get those kind of deals, but Walgreen's usually is, and Target too.

Not free, but this week at Target, Schick Hydro $6.99. In the August 8 Smart Source (Sunday paper) coupon insert there was a $5 off Hydro coupon. So $2 plus tax for a Schick Hydro razor with 2 cartridges. :thumbsup2

WOW! Well, this week's paper has already been recycled, but I'm just going to have to be much more vigilant about watching for this kind of deal and not being stuck on any one brand.

I'll start posting any upcoming razor deals I'm aware of to this thread. :thumbsup2

You may want to start saving coupons in anticipation of the next bargain.

I used to go through way too many blades. I now have an Norelco electric and touch up with a quality disposable about one a week. The diposable will last about eith months before a toss it for a new one.

If you read sites like iheartwags you'll find future ads already listed on the site. IF you see a good razor deal think about going on Ebay, couponclippers or other coupon sites to get several razor coupons. You don't pay for the coupons (illegal) you pay for the clipping service and shipping. :thumbsup2 Just remember if you're shopping at Walgreens you'll usually get RR (register rewards) that you'll need to spend within 2 weeks....and most of the time you can't "roll" them back into the same deal.

This week the Sunday paper will have a ton of coupons as they will have RP, SS and PG inserts!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:****Good Deal Alert****:cool1::cool1::cool1:
